I don't use a memory foam pillow, but I do use the Homedics one with beads. It feels like a brick, but once you get it shaped around your head and neck, it's immensely comfortable. I'm a side and stomach sleeper.

I do have one and for the same reason as you...to support my neck..

I have a foam pillow that is for side sleepers. I didn't like it when I first got it. I had to get used to it and now it really helps my neck.

Ditto with a latex pillow. No more neck pain.

Linda, I'm using the part that's supposed to be for side sleepers; I like it better than the back-sleeping part.

I love latex on my mattress, but didn't do well with a latex pillow. Everyone's different. :-)

Maybe we'll inspire some people to try something new for neck support.

Good thoughts! Sometimes people think the problem is 'the bed', when it's 'the pillow'. (Lessee, I could wedge a pillow under my bottom to combat the sag in the mattress...)

I had a contoured one and didn't like how stiff it was. I now have two softer memory foams that mold themselves to my head and neck as if they were custom made for me.

DH and I use latex pillows as well. He tried the memory foam and didn't like it. I knew it would be too firm for me.

I have a memory foam pillow that I got at BB&B. If it was a man, I;d marry it. I love it to pieces. Sleeping on it literally cured my painful rotator cuff problems after just a few nights. It cost $70 but worth ten times that much to me. The bottom edge is curved so you can kind of tuck it around your shoulder. I looooove it. Glad you like yours, too.

I've been using the contour pillow for about 15 years now. I must admit, it took getting use to. I hated it at first, but it did help the neck. Mine was recommended by a chiropractor, too. Mine cost $90.00! It lasted about 5 or 6 years and then I had to replace it. I bought one at Costco for $25.00.

I have one and use it occasionally.
I have two smaller buckwheat hull pillows I got in Japan. They work very well for me. One has a little less volume and it depends on how much neck pain I am having. Usually it is the one with a little more volume.
I travel with them......and last time I had to go to the emergency room, I took one. I was there five hours and was glad to have remembered to take it.

They gave me 2 of them when I bought my mattress (Bragada)
I do like them but they are too thin so I use both of them together. It works for me. I still haven't found the perfect pillow.

Alisande, I just wanted to tell you that I ordered that pillow that you linked at the beginning of this thread and it is great!! I was having some pain at the base of my neck and was thinking a trip to the chiropractor was in my future. Now I really like my chiropractor and wasn't averse to going, but I thought I'd try that pillow and it fixed me right up. It is a little strange to get used to, but it didn't take me anytime at all to do that.

:) It is a strange little pillow but man is it comfortable!! I've never had anything like it before. I hope it lasts a long, long time.

I'll have to ask my daughter how long hers lasted. She bought it over 10 years ago. Maybe it's still going strong. :-)

I've tried so many different kinds of pillows that I can't count, in hopes of getting a good nights sleep. I've had polyfil, feather/down, buckwheat, those little foam like beads, latex foam, and my favorite so far has been the MyPillow you see advertised on TV. Not only do I love MyPillow, but I love that all it's parts are made in America and it's also assembled in America. Wisconsin I think. We started with one each and now hubby has four, two stay in his hotel room so he doesn't have to travel with them and two at home. I have two, one for travel and one for home. I have the second one because we left the first at a hotel and they didn't send them when they said they would. When it arrived they had added (free) an airplane size travel pillow that I now use under or between my legs, depending whether I sleep on my back or side. What I like better than other combo pillows in that I don't have to change the pillow around when I turn from side to back or vice-versa.
