Beef Jerky

YUMMMM. A delicious snack. But calculating the cost of buying those 3 oz bags in the store, and it's a very expensive per lb snack. It's been a while, but I'm in the mood to make some more. A kitchen project that takes lots of time, and still not "cheap", the overall cost is about half of buying it. The cut of meat can vary, as long as it's super lean, and on sale. Slicing is a challenge. I'm going to ask the store if they will slice it 1/8 - 1/4" thick for me(?) After snooping I concocted a spicy marinade that is my tastes. The sliced meat has to soak overnite. I use the oven method for drying, Hanging the meat over toothpicks on the oven racks. That takes about 4 hr at 120. Some of you may have a Food De-hydrater machine. (That is probably cheaper from an energy consumption point.) They will also allow you to make jerky "sticks" with hamburger. A hunter friend makes jerky sticks with Goose. Do you like Beef Jerky? Ever made it?
