I'll Show You Mine if You Show Me Yours Wed July 9

The junco's nest I found by the side of the house in the grass when I was mowing the lawn yesterday afternoon. Thankfully I don't use a trimmer or I might have killed them!

Funny story, I took a quick pic with my cellphone then went in the house to get my camera. I took 2 pics of the birds in the nest, they were looking up at me, then they all (4 of them) flew out of the nest up at me! The 2 adults were close by and they flew around chirping at me so I left them alone.

Alas, no small birds. I was waiting for the 3 robins to leave their nest (no decent photo opportunity). Monday evening a sparrow hawk got all three.

Something in the yard! How about this spider in the web. I could not get on the other side unless I used a ladder.

I love juncos. Had no idea they nested in the grass. I'll have to watch out.

Wonderful pictures. Beth, I love that picture of the newly hatched robins. You really have to admire birds for their dedication and hard work raising their babies.

In my back yard. He was unusually tame, I could get within 10 ft of him. He hung around 2 summers. I knew when he was out back because of the fuss the small birds made.

Another back yard photo. I love the suction cup feeders on the window by my recliner. I have messy windows, but I don't mind. One day this little fella or one like him pecked on the window because the feeder was empty. I had heard they would do that but didn't really believe. It was true. I think it's a downy.

Yes, that is a downy woodpecker. Aren't they cute? I'm really surprised that those suction cups hold so well on your window.

I've really enjoyed all of the posted pictures....well, not the spider, but then I hate spiders.

Emma, very cool pictures. I love both the woodpecker and the hawk. So cute about the woodpecker getting your attention. LOL

I have had my hummingbirds hover at the window when they wanted more/fresh food. Amazing animals.
