Yes, Merrell is an excellent brand. But, I wear Keen shoes (mostly sandals) because I like the toe protection. I'm constantly stubbing my toes and even broke a toe once by walking into something, so I need that extra protection!

Lindsey -- The clogs are enclosed. I bought the sandals to provide myself a change of shoes.

I hear you about toes. Our king bed frame is on casters. We've had it fifty years. I bet I have stubbed my toes on one of those casters a hundred times while making the bed. (Wouldn't you think I would have *learned* by now?)

Keen's here too! Merrill's didn't fit my foot very well, but both are great shoes!

I like Merrell's and have a pair of clogs and sandals. But I have discovered that their sizing can vary. I wear them to avoid foot problems --plantar fasciatis.

A tip about avoiding stubbed toes on those bed castors - nestle each castor into a foam can cozy to cushion the blow. If you need the castors functional to move the bed, cut the bottom out of the cozy....

I love both brands I have Keen sandals and several pair of Merrell shoes. They are always comfortable on my messed up flat feet. I also love my skechers.

I have't tried their shoes, yet, so it's good to know you like them. I have 4 pairs of Merrell boots and my DH wears Keens sandals & boots.

I live in Merrells -

I had a pair of Merrell sandals and they were comfy, and I've never had this problem with other sandals, but man were they stinky! I guess it was the material in the footbed...not sure what it was, but i hesitate to buy another pair. Anyone else have this problem with Merrells?

I have upwards of 70 pairs of Keens, mostly the Bali style and the Waimea H2 (originally called Antiqua). Each year they come out with new colors, and I've been buying Keens for many years, so I have dozens of colors in each style. I also have a few other Keen styles, too, but the ones I wear most often are the Bali and the Antiqua/Waimea H2.

And, one of the greatest things about the Keen sandals is that they have antimicrobial footbeds, so they don't get stinky. If they get dirty you just throw them in the washing machine. Don't put them in the dryer, though! Just set them in the sun to dry -- they dry quickly.

My Mary Janes are my summer uniform. They don't come in narrow widths, but the velcro strap allows for a snug enough fit. The mesh top keeps feet from getting too hot, and I can walk for miles without my feet feeling tired. Perfect for travel/sight-seeing, too.

I have several pairs of Merrells from clogs to sandals, but I find that Keens (depending on style) have a more cushionary foam sole and better support for my high arches. I wear my Keen sandals when I know I'll be on my feet for long periods of time and for daily walks (Venice H2 style) since they don't leave my arches hurting. I have a pair of Keen boots for hiking and other styles.

Do the other brands mentioned have the same "Q" design -- or something similar?

I have a pair of BOC (Born) lace-up's that have the steel shank I loved in my old Rockports, but they aren't quite as good for my back as this "Q" thing in the Merrells.

I usually wear 8.5 or even a 9, but the Merrells are size 8. They proclaim anti-microbal inner soles.

Seems most shoes in wide supply now come 'medium' width -- too wide for me, even now with the AAA of my youth having flattened to just plain A. Sometimes I can compensate by adding a Scholl's heel pad under a thin rubber innersole.

Merrells don't fit me well either, darn it. Eccos are great and I'm living in a pair of those sandals I've had for a few years now, but they are rather $$. I was loving Keen sandals but for some reason I tripped easily in them and have the skinned knee scars to show for it. :)

Another vote for Ecco. I bought my first pair of Eccos in Denmark (where the company is based) over 30 years ago. I've been happily wearing their shoes ever since.

Chisue, no, not a spare room. We do have a large master walk-in closet (over 110 sq.ft.) that has double rods and shelves, and my hubs added a bunch of shoe racks (he has a lot of shoes, too!).

I have 8 pair of the air glides and a pair that looks like short boots. Some I bought some at shoes online, colored ones. I love them. I started buying them when I had Planter Fascia and they helped. I can wear them all day and forget I have shoes on. The women's shoes are made for the way they bear their weight and the same reason for the men. I also had a shot in my heel that really worked, still working.

I have several pair of Merrell Arabesque shoes in various colors of leather. They are so comfortable and show no wear at all, still look new. I get lots of compliments on them. They have a zipper top closure so they are very easy on & off which is important for me. Can dress up or casual.

My favorite keen sandals are my Daytona in black olive, I have an extremely flat wide foot so these are perfect for me. I love that they are made to go in the water or whatever you you throw at them.

I really like the new Uneek sandals too, just two cords and a sole!
I am thinking of getting one of the custom made keen sandals, I love bright colors and I could go crazy with those. They last forever.

I wish Skechers would make some cute sandals like the Go Walk shoes.
