Rain and more rain

This is the first time in awhile we can remember it raining ALL day, since at least 8am this morning and at 5, still coming down. Naturally we are under a flood alert and it will be interesting to find out how much we are getting. Wind blowing now so staying home is good.

We had huge amounts the other day. We are well over 7" for the month. The forecast is for spotty rain for the tonight and tomorrow, and then on Monday we are supposed to get what you have been getting.

It's raining here too, yesterday and today. Although we are getting a little bit of a break right now and DH is outside taking down dirty window screens to wash them. A little bit cool too, I have some heat on this afternoon. When am I ever going to get this yard renovation done, projects I started last year....

Actually the 12 inches of water was just on the ground in my garden--The official rain gauge in my community registered 14 plus inches. The burger King 3 blocks from me had water up past the bottoms of their windows, and the town had LOTS of cars under water, and WAY too many houses had water inside. Spring Hill is about 11-12 hours south of me-I have friends that live there too. Thanks for the concern....

Linda, As always you have a terrific selection of beauties! You and I seem to have the same taste in daylilies because every one of them you have shown so far is one I would grow myself. My absolute favorite of all these lovelies is Indy Heartstopper! Talk about a perfect name for it...it does indeed make your heart stop for a second it's so beautiful. We had lots & lots of rain last week with some of the rivers overflowing so I know what you mean about all the weeds. But we can't complain too much when other are in a drought, can we? Do the cats still go outside when it rains? Lily doesn't mind getting wet, but Fat Cat Nemo is a big sissy and stays inside...LOL. Celeste

well i picked the pod from the 7 pot brown and 1 guy backed out on the taste test so me and the other guy halved it ...... had a real good fruity flavor then a few seconds later the heat was quite intense my buddy starting using his Tea as mouth wash ... lol first it hit the back of the throat then moved to the top of the tongue seemed a bit hotter then the 7 pot reds i have tried . will have to run a few more test i will let the next ripe one sit on the plant for a couple weeks to build up more heat

Well, lucky you, Glenda! As Carol said, we got a little dribble from Mother Nature the other day, but nothing much. Sure hope we get some more this winter. We need it, our trees and shrubs need it.

I just checked the midwest radar. Ouch! There is some real wetness out there. And more is forecast by the liars at the weather bureau.

Iowa is way too wet. When it rains now it doesn't even soak in a little bit, it just makes huge ponds. And the stream in my basement is back. It might stop sometime Monday. BUT Monday is so far away that forecast could change by then. I woke up with a start last night. I couldn't hear the sump pump running.

It was cloudy all day Saturday and finally around 8 PM started pouring and the storm rolled through. Front yard was a lake. But the skies look sunny for the start of today, at least. I hope the humidity is down a notch.

I sent this to my sis-in-law who moved from IC two years ago. She misses the weather not a whit, for sure.

This is the strangest day we've had in.........2 days! When I got up the sun was shining, birds were singing, looked like a perfect day. And then the typhoon came. But it cleared off and the sun shone - for about 15 minutes before it poured again. Repeat, repeat, repeat, repeat and repeat. The forecast I just heard said 2 to 2 1/2 inches of rain and hail from golf ball to softball size with potential wind to 70 mph. Am I excited yet? NO.
