What's for dinner Friday?

Busy day--appointment in town and while we were there the rains started. Still pouring down rain when we left there and all the way back home--a 45 minute drive. Then we had to go to Lowes to sign the contract for our new flooring. I can't wait to get rid of the carpet! Maybe our new floor will be installed next week. (Crossed fingers.) So we're having leftover tuna casserole tonight.

Sue, glad you were able to get out and about. I see Indpls. weather in our newspaper. Like to look since DB lives in Greensburg. We only got up to 49 today--or so the paper said. Just heard we should have 70 on Monday, though. Glenda--haha! Hope you enjoyed that tamale. I had a pork tamale a couple of years ago at a little bakery that sells other things on the side. It was homemade and pretty good. Raven, happy birthday to your DH and have a wonderful dinner. I think yours sounds delicious! Shirley, isn't it fun to read restaurant menus? Sure is hard to make up one's mind sometimes! Especially if I'm hungry!! You must be having meatless Friday tonight. We used to do Monday's. (But not every Monday.) Rhizo, I will be right there! Oh, I do love sausage gravy. Now I'll be dreaming about it!! Jasdip, a turkey breast really goes a long way, doesn't it? Okay by me, I love it. Nice dinner--does your cabbage soup have a lot of different veggies in it? Mine does. I use the recipe from the cabbage soup diet. Very yummy!

Kayjones: I'll take one of each. Haven't had either one in a long time. Sue: You do eating right by not eating a full meal when you're only hungry for a banana. I'd have to add it to a bowl of oatmeal. lol The bananas haven't looked good in my area lately so haven't bought any for about a month. Jasdip: Your entire meal sounds like something I'd like to try. I'll take a small amount of each. Mary: What did you put in your shells? Ravencajun: I like your kind of soup. I often do that myself. Glenda, those darned love bugs drive me nuts! I noticed one on the car this afternoon. Hope you asked the Ashley Mac to put the spinach tart back on the menu. Did you have the sour cream biscuit?? Jasdip, do you have your heat on at night? Or just enjoy the coolness? We have the worst Chinese food around here. On the other side of town, there must be 5 gigantic Chinese buffets. Wish we had our favorite small Chinese place we had in Dunedin. Such fresh tasting food. Shirley, I'd be right over if I could taste right, darn it. That sounds so good. We're all eating egg salad, seems like. Hey, it's good to share meal ideas, right? Georgysmom, glad you played well today. See practice pays off!! When does the bathroojm makeover start?

Glenda, nice way for a restaurant to lose customers, huh? You aren't doing so good this week--that's two days in a row for bad dinners. At least yesterday, you got dinner! Seagrass, your meals are likely more tasty than restaurant meals anyway. But it is nice not to have to cook all the time. Sue, sure hope you feel better. I bought some Alka-Seltzer Plus cold med. in case I feel a cold coming on. It works well for me. Chicken soup always helps, too. Jasdip, I was able to eat three saltines with ham salad on top! Woohoo!! Also ate a mug of noodle soup. Of course, I'd rather have your taco salad :-( Isn't it nice to see the sun shining? Mary, I bet 38 did feel like a heat wave after that 19 you had the other morning. I'm waiting until next week to clean. The house stays pretty clean since I'm not cooking. Shirley, I need to make some beef barley soup. It sounds delicious. Glad you had sunshine--it feels so good in the winter. (Guess it isn't winter yet, though.) Jean, you're doing really well with your low-carb meals. You're a saint to fix your DH mashed potatoes when you can't eat them!! Aw Hellion, I'm waitin' for the day I can eat bacon. I think I'll just fry up a whole pound and have at it :-) Georgysmom, I forgot you were in Florida with your GF's. Sure wish you had better weather, but I just know you're having a great time anyway. I'll say a prayer to the weather gods for nice, sunny, warm days the rest of the week.

Leftovers! Yay! Got green beans, corn, mixed "fried stuff" which is potatoes, green tomatoes and okra mixed together and corn sticks. Love these summer vegetable meals.

I had a lot of running around to do today. I picked up a Lean Cuisine spaghetti w/meat at my last stop to have for my meal. Too tired to do any more than that.

I enjoy Lean Cuisine spaghetti w/meat! Haven't had it in ages.

When in doubt, I ended up at Golden Corral, and MAN were they busy.

They are right beside the intersection for I-65 South for those headed to Florida, and North. Three bus loads of boy scouts with their leadeds were headed to a camp up north.

Everybody and his brother were there, including me!

LOL Cheryl--I thought you were extra hungry! Wish I could come to your KT get together :-( I know it's going to be fun and I'd love to meet you and Monie. I have met JoAnn and she's a sweetheart! (Ask her to make her red velvet cupcakes--they are to die for!) It's really nice of you to host what could become a huge KT party!

Jude, you are so right about the summer vegetables. I just got crazy at the farmer's market. But then I have to use everything quickly before it spoils. Not a problem. I could eat cucumbers and radishes for breakfast :-) And have, BTW!

Shirley, I'm just grateful I had something--anything--for leftovers. I'm with you. Too worn out to cook a new meal.

We went to the restaurant I work at for all you can eat fried cat fish with baked beans and cornbread and salad bar. It was all so good.

Pasta, cause tomorrow is a bike ride day. :)

Along with it, I had my very first patty pan squash.

Well, it was delish!

I sliced it. Sprinkled it with rosemary powder on one side.. turned it over in grape seed oil, and sprinkled garlic salt on the other side. Then I grilled the slices on george foreman.

Just delish.

Need to harvest some more tomorrow. :)
