What's for Dinner ... Tuesday?

Today was sister's lunch day at the Home with Annie. My turn to select/buy her lunch. I got us a 6 pc chicken strips basket and we shared it. She loved it especially dipping the toast in the gravy. She wasn't willing to share the toast. lol

For my meal tonight, I have a big salad with artisan lettuce and plenty of vegetables and fruit on it, topped with shrimp. It looks great. If I want something more, I'll have some plain greek yogurt topped with lemon pie filling.

So what was/will be your choice for today?

We are having grilled pork chops, roasted potatoes and grilled asparagus or roasted fresh green beans. Doubt I will eat any of the chops because of the toothaches....

Can't wait until tomorrow Glenda & Linda!!!

I made a great roast beef with potatoes, onions, mushrooms, and I roasted carrots separately. It made a wonderful thick brown gravy to go over rice. It was wonderful. Had the neighbors over for dinner and a visit. I had picked up some home grown tomatoes at the farmers market and sliced up some of those too.

Raven: Your meal would suit me to a "T". frankginakay: I'm glad to hear you were able to get out today. I like my own food but I really like going out too. Georgysmom: Sometimes a burger just fits the occasion, especially when in a hurry. Janey: I hope I remember to get some bacon soon. I like canned pork n beans too. Suzi: Your meal sounds so good. I really like pork chops. Kathsgrdn: An easy/peasy meal with leftovers ... good deal. Is Lauren home from school for the summer? Alice: That casserole sounds interesting. Wish I had a taste of it. Of course, your dessert sounds terrific. Pam: Congrats on your move. When is moving day? Aren't you glad for fast food places for times like this? Rhizo: I use dill weed in my salmon patties too. My husband has said he will grill the nice bone in ribeye steaks we picked up and I am cooking fresh corn on the cob to go with it and sliced farm tomatoes. Beautiful day but oh so hot!! still over a hundred right now and will likely stay there for a while. I am headed to the atrium to turn on my sprinkler system I have set up in there. I can make it rain! LOL the plants and birds love it!

Leftovers here, too. I'm going to make chicken fajitas with the chicken from last night, plus grilled green, yellow sweet peppers, and onions, avocado, chopped lettuce and tomatoes and sour cream, all on a flour tortilla. I'll mix up a little fresh salsa, too, I guess. Raven, I hope that your power comes back on SOON!

It is raining now. Just eating my supper, mac and cheese, peas, applesauce and iced tea.

Marilyn, I love peas with my mac 'n' cheese. Yum!

Tonight, we're having halibut, garlic brown rice, and sauteed summer squash and mushrooms. For dessert, sweet, ripe strawberries.

Hi Shirley!
A gorgeous day here in Ontario!

I took the leftover roast beef, heated it up in crusty rolls, and dipped in the thinned gravy for Beef Dips. Leftover potato salad to go alongside. It was delicious!

I'm cooking a chicken on the rotisserie (in the garage, haha). And I'm making a mushroom and asparagus risotto......watched Ina make it this morning and it looked soooooooo good! We'll have some honey sweetened carrots, too.

Turkey meatloaf is in the oven.
Will probably have broccoli with it.

Glenda: Two of my favorite foods. Enjoy your lunch and company tomorrow.

Orchid: Now I'm really getting hungry for pork chops. I wish you weren't troubled with your teeth though. That's a bummer.

Ellendi: Sounds like a great meal at your house tonight. I like any meal that contains chicken and stuffing.

Sue: Sounds like a comforting and delicious meal. Don't send any rain my way, please.

Alice: Could I get an invite? Sounds very good to me.

Jasdip: Beef is tops on my list and your total meal sounds delicious.

Rhizo: From one Wasa person to another. Not too many agree with us. I hope your dish is as good as it looked on TV. Let us know.

Hounds: I -love- meatloaf. Could eat it 3 or 4 times a week. And broccoli as a side dish would suit me fine.

Just finished eating my salad with lots of veggies. Trying to counteract the effects of all those fried green tomatoes that I ate for lunch!! LOL

ooooooo..... it's been a long time since I've made Italian Beef... so good!

Hard/busy day for me yesterday so dinner was fast/easy pasta w/ canned sauce (DelMonte is the only canned sauce I've tried that I like), with extras of sauteed mushrooms, sauteed onions & hamburger, and a nice salad w/ lettuce from the garden. But I was still hungry, so I made a rhubarb-strawberry sauce for dessert/snacking. :)
