Had lunch with Glenda & Linda

We had a great time once I got there. I was late by about 15 minutes, then lost for another 15. LOL my DS drove me, so he got to meet the wonderful women named Glenda & Linda. Coming home he said he really liked meeting my friends, The food at Parrish Seafood and Oyster Bar was great,,,a little pricy. The wait staff could have been better, overall I would give them a B-. But the conversation was great!! We talked about the beach and how bad we all want to go.

We decided that we are going to meet once a month from now on....This will be something I will look forward to. I love Glenda & Linda, they are good people!!!

My fault for Laura being late :o( Told her the wrong road!

T'was fine Laura was late, cause Linda and I both had a hard time deciding what to order!

Enjoyed meeting your son,Laura. He's a nice fella!

Thanks everybody you're very nice and kind ;o) Thanks Lydia, Ever since Moni suggested wearing red for support to our Kt friends on Thursdays I've tried to make sure I follow through, and Moni looks fantastic in Red! Aw that so sweet Marilyn, thanks and someday I'd like to meet you too! Silly Flamey, of course we talked about you ;o) As soon as Moni pulled that thumb pincushion out of the bag she said "Did you get that from the link Flamey posted?" heheheh you were sweet to post it and I'm really grateful thanks again! Missindia, that's the nicest compliment for me, I'd love to have Moni as a sister ;o) Ont_gal, DH fixed it for me, he didn't want me to pull any of the knobs - turns out on a Ford you push and hold the clock button while mashing the seek button, who knew you don't punch and poke lol. Thank you Shirley that's a nice compliment too! Aw thanks Jel very sweet of you to say so! Thanks Alisande, we had a great time, Moni is so much fun to be around! Ruthie Hugs! It's a little part but we hope it somehow makes you feel we're holding your hand when you need us. Leslie teehee! Yup it's cold in Texas today and it was yesterday but the day before that it was a nice warm 78 degrees......I miss Tuesday lol. YaYa, we both wished All of you had been there with us! I'm sorry you missed it but hey there's always next time ;o) Thanks Glenda! Thank you Nodakgal, I wish you could have been there too ;o) I wish you could have been here too Coral, and Moni is great fun! We had a really good time today. Thanks everyone - It really was amazing!!! I walked into Jolane and there was Peppi exactly as she said she would be. She's pretty much told you everything but I want to add a bit. Peppi is the first cooking forum friend I've met in real life and she was raving about some of the other friends she's met through here. If y'all are half as nice as she claims, I can't wait to meet more of you. Next time anyone is in Chicago or passing through, drop me an email and we can get together for more of this addictive kind of fun. We talked so much and had such a great time they had to kick us out - very politely of course - but then we had already been there for THREE hours!! Where did that time go? Good thing Peppi wasn't working that day - that was a very long lunch hour. I had the best girlfriend lunch ever. Most of my girlfiends are salad nibblers and forget about dessert. Peppi and I shared a delicious lunch and between the two of us we finished most of it. When we were emailing back and forth to set it all up she said something to me that just struck a chord..."Never trust a skinny cook". I'm framing it for my kitchen - it just made me feel so warm and good. Of course I can't let that be an excuse not to get to a healthier weight but it is a lovely thought :) Next time, and i know there wil definitely be one, we will take pictures and maybe I'll get brave enough to put a picture of myself on the internet. I had to run, barely made it home before the bus, but I did. Peppi did you run into the Viking shop? Just wondering if that's where you picked up that cool (hot) pepper de-seeder?

Jannie, even your leftovers sound good! Trixie, have a fun evening with your kids. We've been under water restrictions for years. I don't care how much rain we get, they don't lift it. They did lift the burn ban for the holidays since we had rain 10 days in a row. Lynn, nothing better than steak on the grill, but your "something for dessert later" made me LOL. Bet it made your DH happy to hear it though!! I would much rather have had lunch with Glenda and Linda today than cook. I love the menu of that restaurant, but I wanted everything :-) Besides that, the company would've been a lot of fun. Don't know about you guys, but I'm sleepy already!!

Well he did act like a young Don Knots but he looked more like a young and of course chubby Dom DeLouise! Thank you everyone for your compliments you are all being so nice. It is nice when KT people can get together. We're spending the week at our place in northeast PA so it was only a 30 or so mile drive to met Susan at a restaurant. My husband and I had been cutting logs into rounds for 2 days so I told him I wanted a fun day. The kids come up tonight so tomorrow it's back to firewood duty - we rented a hydraulic log splitter and we're planning on getting 2 or 3 cords of wood split and stacked for the winter. I feel like the productive country mouse from the children's fable.

We were so busy talking that we forgot to take pics.. Sam asked for an application while we were there. They didn't have one, but waitress took his name & phone number and said she would give it to the owner when he came in,, I think they have free valet parking at night. He said he would love to work there because the 1st thing he is going to do is ask our waitress' phone number...LOL

Glenda, that happens to me with familiar roads. You are just so used to going and not thinking about it.

Nice to hear you had a nice time. I went to a get-together last year and it was fun meeting people from GW. But, none of live close to each where we would continue meeting.

I am good at giving directions, just not street, road, hwy directions.

Take a left, take a right, look for this, look for that, and everyone pretty much has no problem.

Linda knew, I just misled Laura !

All ended well wlth a good luncheon visit. That's what counted, right?

Yesterday was fun. It was nice to meet Laura's son. Laura tell him he doesn't have to work there to ask for her number! LOL

I had the Jambalaya, Glenda had raw oysters and gumbo(?), Laura had Shrimp Etouffee and Sam had Red Beans and Rice. It was all very good.

Before Laura and Sam got there the server was very attentive. We asked a lot of questions about the food and she was very helpful.

Why is it the "newcomer" (me) is the only one who knows the name of the road? LOL! In all fairness the exit sign says "Edwards Lake Rd" and if you go straight at the end of the ramp you are on that road. We had to turn right and that's a different street.
