What's for dinner Saturday?

Guess what? I haven't a clue what we're having for dinner tonight. Been out shopping most of the afternoon and I am overheated, my back hurts and I'm not hungry at all. Whatever we have, it won't be coming from our kitchen :0

What are you having tonight?

I had homemade vegetable soup, and made a sandwich out of a ground pork pattie, onions, romaine lettuce and brown mustard.

Yours sounds delicious, Glenda.

RE: What's for dinner Saturday?

Both of your dinners sound delicious! I didn't tell the whole story about my day. When we got home from shopping, the whole back of the hatchback and part of the back seat were both full of stuff that had to be carried inside. I had grabbed as much as I could went inside and when I came out here comes Harry absolutely laden with bags plus a gallon of milk and a gallon of Arizona tea. I told him to put some of them down, but does he listen to me? Noooo! So I thought, okay if he wants to be that stubborn then go ahead. Next thing you know, he tripped over the step up from the garage to the kitchen. He went flying and so did the groceries. Pears were rolling across the floor--along with a bunch of other stuff. He's bleeding from his arm and he's on Coumadin so he bleeds really easily. I was both scared and so mad it him! Stubborn should be his middle name.

I finally was able to get the groceries around him picked up enough to help him up with the help of his walker. I swear that man is going to be the death of me yet. It gave him a good scare, too. I wish he'd remember he isn't 50 anymore :-(

So that's the rest of the story :)

Patti, I know that scared 10 years off your life. Men can be so stubborn. Hopefully he will have learned his lesson until the next time.

We are picking up Timm this evening so there will be left over shepherd's pie, salad and 321 cake for dessert.

Our trip to Las Vegas was uneventful today. Thankfully it isn't as hot as it was yesterday so no engine problems.

I was up with the birds this morning and made a pot of spaghetti sauce. Just a quickie marinara type sauce.

I was wanting baked ziti, so I made the sauce to use in the ziti.
So that's what we had for dinner. It only reached 12C today, so it was definitely the right kind of dinner!

Fresh homemade bread with it.

Sounds good to me, Glenda. When people mention something about my liking to cook, I always tell them that the truth is that I LOVE to eat, much more than I like cooking.

Patti: That sounds like my son. In the winter, when I can't drive down into my yard to unload groceries, he comes out after work and brings them in. I use cloth bags and he has them lined up on both arms.

Nita, glad to hear today was better than yesterday. What a time you had! I'm sure Timm will be really happy to have your good cooking tonight. He may never go home again :-) I hope Harry learned something. You should see his right arm. The front is solid purple-black. That coumadin is potent stuff.

Jasdip, you will sleep like a baby tonight after getting up so early this morning. Bet DT was a happy camper at dinner time.

I use the cloth bags too, Shirley, and do just like your son. Line those babies up my arms and on the way in the house I try lifting to get some strength in the arms. Mostly all I get are red marks where the handles were! LOL!

Linda, now I'm wanting beets. One of my favorite vegetables. I see a lot of recipes for roasting them, but I haven't tried it. Have you ever?

We ended up going to 5 Guys. That has to be the best hamburger ever. And those homemade fries--wow!

Left-over spaghetti and one meatball! It was good, but could have been more!

Love the hamburgers at 5 guys. I had never heard of it until I was down to The Villages this past March. Friend says it is very popular.

Corned beef, baby red potatoes and cabbage.

We ate out at Ruby Tequilas, it was great till my last bite and a piece of jalapeo pepper snuck in with out me seeing it and oh my it immediately turned my stomach, I thought I would lose it. Thankfully I made it home and quickly took one of my anti nausea pills.
What a way to ruin a great meal. Even when you say no peppers they just can't seem to resist. Whew so glad those pills work fast.

I'll bet it's not easy staying away from jalapenos where you're from RC!
