| The former President Bush and our former "beautiful" first Lady were at the White House yesterday for the unveiling of their portraits. President Obama was very vocal in his praise of them.....Bush was very funny....
Laura was as beautiful as ever...or maybe more beautiful as I am pretty confident that she has had a little work done....Not a wrinkle to be seen on her face....I mean more power to her...She looks like she is maybe 30....not her actual age........But she looked great... The portraits were beautiful. |

| I loved President Bush's comments. I don't know whether President Obama appreciated them or even "got" them, but I liked it!! I thought what Bush said about the first lady was cute too, with apologies to his mother. |

| This, from Laura Bush at the event -- too funny! "It was really gracious of you to invite us back to the White House to hang a few family pictures. Nothing makes a house a home like having portraits of its former occupants staring down at you from the walls." In his portrait, W looked skinnier. Even his arms looked skinny. Laura's didn't seem to exude the warmth (glow?) I remember her for. She looked just a little too formal, even though these are their "official" portraits. |

| I have a friend who is very much not in my political camp. But we both are open to listening and exchanging ideas. We would often attend events and plays together. She had a box for the season at the venue. I went to her faves and she agreed to go to hear Laura Bush speak. She was completely ready to have her preconceived notions validated. I knew she was just itching to find ammunition against that side. LOL After Laura gave her talk my friend was very pensive. After a bit she commented. "Wow Whar a beautiful person. She one of the most naturally, charming, articulate people I've ever seen. He must not be that bad to have won her heart". I just laughed and told her not to believe all the talking heads. LOL |

| I thought their remarks were witty, and that both of them exude grace. I also thought both of them looked very happy and relaxed. They were both charming and the portraits looked pretty good. |

| Yep, dittos from me, too. He was fun, witty, charming, etc,- his usual endearing self. And Laura is and always was, a class act and very thoughtful and sweet. I liked his portrait better, though, it flatters him more than hers does. |

| Clowning must run in the family. (Did you catch his father's socks?) A little humor was just the right medicine to distract from our fresh memories of military and economic debacles. |
