The only other thing I would try is disconnect the opener arm from the door and hit the opener and see if the opener works when disconnected from the door. The 3280 is a Liftmaster Belt Drive opener. It is very quiet and reliable. You are seeing so many craftsman opener problems in this forum, because if you google craftsman opener problems, it takes you to this forum. Most of the problems you are seeing with these openers are extremely easy repairs. I would get that 3280 installed for that is a fair price about 25 bucks cheaper than what my company installs them for. Or you could go with a craftsman and do it yourself, either way stay away from srew drives no matter what the name brand and in particular stay away from genie. At least when a craftsman opener breaks you can buy the parts and do it yourself.

We have one for our 2 adult cats, and I absolutely LOVE it! pkguy, there is no wet poo to scoop so I'm not sure what you mean - the whole point to the catgenie is that the machine fully takes care of all discharge so all you have to do is flush (if you've hooked up to the toilet). I do have some comments though from our cats use of the machine: - Urine is typically the BIG smell with traditional boxes, but that is not an issue with the catgenie since that drains away immediately. However, unless your cat has allergies, I would strongly recommend that you always use the scented litter because the poop smell is pretty strong - using the hood might reduce/confine the smell better. - Having said that about the poo smell, keep that in mind if you are using a washroom hookup. The smaller size of the room will make the smell more intense. We have an extra washer hookup in our mechanical room, with direct discharge into the sewer, and we find this to be the optimal setup. - We greatly minimized the poo smell by adding Arm & Hammer scented baking soda to the litter after each cycle. I don't even notice it anymore. - I haven't used the auto cycling and prefer the manual cycle since it's just a push of the button to start, and I can ensure the cats are sleeping when it's on so they don't get spooked. When I get home from work, I go downstairs and sweep up any litter kicked out, dump it back in, push the "start" button, and walk away. How easy is that? - Both of our 4 year old cats adapted to this very very easily. And my enormous male who is usually afraid of his own shadow, pooped in it not even 5 mins after we had it set up lol - The base is a very generous size, which I worried about since one of my cats is huge! He's been able to maneuver around in it though with no problems at all. That's all I can think of for now. But if you have any questions, let me know and I'll answer as best I can.

We use one. It works great; although if you use clumping litter, I suspect it would fill up very quickly (this was born out for us when we switched to clumping litter a few weeks ago temporarily). We usually use crystal litter, so the only thing that goes into it is the kitty poo (no big pee clumps) and the bags last quite a while for us (at least two or three months, even with two cats, and scooping every day). One thing that makes them last a little longer is to not turn the mechanism every day (i.e. scoop into for two days, and then turn it) -- it uses less of the bag that way, although if you're using clumping litter, you probably can't get away with that. The bags are very effective at limiting the odor; the turning mechanism basically wraps up the "deposits". The inside of the litter locker stinks something awful, which is only noticeable when you're changing the bags. We spray it liberally with deodorizing spray, and wash it outside with the hose every few times after we dump the contents. To remove the contents, it's easy -- you basically open it up, cut off the bag and tie it, then grab the two sides of the turning mechanism and pull them apart -- preferably into a waiting garbage bag. The only con to it is the cost of the refill bags, which is why if you use clumping litter, it might get costly. On the other hand, crystal litter (which as I mentioned, means you only deal with poos) itself is pretty costly, so it's six of one, half a dozen of the other, as far as cost goes. Having said that, I definitely recommend it, especially if you have only one cat or use crystal litter, or are prepared to deal with the cost of refills. It's sooo much easier than trying to scoop kitty waste into little bags and dumping into the garbage or walking it outside, as we used to do.
