Trails going through Holyrood Park going to Arthur's Seat on the edge of the city of Edinburgh, Scotland

The path for walking up to Santa Maria de Montserrat (altitude 4,000 feet) near Barcelona Spain.

No! I rode up, no way for this old man to do this.

Gorgeous pictures this morning! I wish I was in shape enough to walk some of those trails.

Mine is a trail in a local park - French Lick.

On a hike through the Warrumbungle National Park in Eastern Australia.

Picking our route:

Some sections are quite steep:

We pass these plants known as "grasstrees" that are very slow-growing. This one might be 100 years old.

But the views from the top are dramatic:

A rock formation called "The Bread Knife" and a flowering grassteree.

On the way down:

We finished the hike at dusk, and the kangaroos were becoming active, just like white-tailed deer in a U.S. park.

Most of the walks/hikes around here will look a lot like this... sans me and my basket, of course. :)

No trails for me, but I do have stone. My ice house yesterday.

Alisande, I love your ice house! Do you use it as a cold cellar? or for ice? there's a place near here that still cuts ice in Feb to store in the ice barn and then they have an ice cream social using that ice in June. :)

Would love to walk all of those trails, especially the one in Scotland!!

PartyMusic, the ice house consists of two unconnected rooms (with very thick walls, of course). We use one for gardening supplies, and used the other for pool equipment before we had it filled in. (The pool, not the room.) :-)

Hiking Australia....Baron Falls. We took the train to see it the 1st time, then rented a car and hiked the trail the 2nd time we were in Australia.
