Golden chain tree blossoms just over a week ago ....sadly they don't last long but are beautiful :)

One of my domestic ducks has been sitting on 5 eggs just a couple feet from the front door. This morning she has 4 babies.

Thanks Taigen, I never knew what those were called. I took photos of a gorgeous display of them at Butchart Gardens in Victoria BC a couple years ago.

jeaninwa.....I was evacuated...now it says on TV hours later were being let back in....all is well!!!! No structures were involved....

Mairie that is a beautiful plant.

My husband is a volunteer firefighter here in SD. NO forest fires mostly wheat field fires. I sure worry about him when it is very windy out.

jeaninwa.....there is some crack pot going around starting forest fires....20 of them so far. ...2500 acres of forest were lost in this one....animals running all over town, across the highway.....people panicking(car accidents everywhere during the evacuation)....senseless confusion. :0( Hwy 24 is still closed, people are stranded and can't get home, Woodland park has run out of gas. The entire police force has neighborhoods closed off to keep "the arsonist" from gaining acesss to the mountains/woods, while they fight THIS fire.....

bengardening.....I appreciate ALL the firefighters that worked to put all those fires out. 9 are sitill burning here in Colorado, but are mostly under control. Thank goodness your DH is such a good person and is willing to help out.....he's very special!!!

I guess I should change my user name...I'm not in WA anymore :)

I had friend's texting me on Sat. asking if we had to be evacuated...we are just ten min from Garden of the Gods. No evacuation for us thank goodness.

There are CRAZY people out there!!!!

jeaninwa.....10 minutes puts you miles away. Colorado Springs is in no danger. I'm happy for you.

This was taken off our deck.....we live right on the edge of the forest, luckily on a mountain across from this one, our forest is still pretty and green....lived here for 21 years, there's hundreds of miles of forest behind our house....and the winds are kicking up.....
