I have two bhut jalokias and one naga dorsett growing, that I started on 2-1, and are already flowering - indoors, under HPS. The BJs are larger, but not by much, and the ND is the first one to have flowers that opened. Still have no idea when they will produce and ripen, but I started them very early, so I won't have to wait until Oct.! And I have a guy at work who is going to be the first to try them, that eats my gold bullets and makes comments like "I thought that was a gold bullet, not a cold bullet!" The red savinas definitely aren't what they used to be, and the testing confirmed my "unscientific" testing, though they used to be much hotter. One chocolate variety got him pretty well, but still wasn't what the RSs were years ago. I am hoping these will call his bluff... Here are the photos of their growth. It is strange, in that both loose many lower leaves, then where the leaves were, another stem is beginning to grow. One of my long time best friends son was drafted by them (Tampa Bay Devil Rays) right out of school and I think he may still play with them, I don't watch so have not kept up. His name is Travis Schlichting, he was a very good player and a super kid. He may have gone on to some other team by now, I have not talked to his dad in a while. Congrats on the team doing so well!

Lily, I agree with you, the Phillies were a better team than the Cardinals, and beating them was a lot of luck and hard work. As for the fans, Busch Stadium is sold out nearly every game during the regular season, there are few fair-weather fans. We arguably have the best fans in baseball, we even applaud for the opposing team when they make a great play. We just simply love good baseball. I agree with the symantics of the playoff structure, I liked the National/American league World Series too. But it isn't anything we can change, so we have to just take it as it is. I have been a Cards fan since I can remember. In 1983, at the home opener after we won the series in '82, our parents let my friend and I cut school that day and attend the game and ring ceremony. We were in 7th grade and it was just the two of us girls! Remember those days when that was okay? But oh, I miss the old stadium. Since moving to Phoenix I have only been back for one game at the new stadium, I knew the old one like I know my own house. I do like the image of the Arch mowed into the field. However, when the Cards come here to Phoenix, there are so many St. Louis fans that live here that there are about as many St. Louis fans as D-Backs fans. It is a lot of fun, Cards fans love a good, friendly rivalry, and we never miss a game (don't tell my boss that I am not sick those days - never mind, he is from St. Louis too and we all go together!). At any rate, it will be a great series, the Cards have their work cut out for them against a serious bullpen, but I think we will be good competition. Good luck!!!

I can hardly wait for tonight! I was busy texting with my kids during the game: The son and his wife who live near StL and were losing their minds; the youngest son who is a baseball coach and was losing his mind over the errors and LaRussa's decisions; the dtr who lives in Australia who, because she has no tv of her own, spent several hours on a treadmill at her gym watching the game, cheering and agonizing to the astonishment and delight of people she doesn't even know at the gym; another dtr who said, "Oh, is there a game tonight?" to howls from her three big brothers and daddy, who has hated and admired LaRussa since LaRussa's days with the White Sox and was ready to wring his neck several times during this series. It was a blast. I hope we get more of the same tonight! GO CARDS!!!
