Swollen foot?

Chi

I thought I'd ask here to see if anyone has any ideas. I have been to the doctor twice about it and she doesn't seem concerned but I know my body and I know this isn't normal.

The top of my left foot has been mildly, but visually, swollen for over 2 months now. Some days are more swollen than others but it's been swollen constantly since it started. It's been particularly bad today but I've been standing a lot more than usual doing hours of baking/cooking for an event in my bare feet on my hard wooden floors over the last 48 hours. Today it's also affecting the ankle area though it's generally just the top of the foot.

There's no pain. It used to be a little painful when I would flex my toes but now it's more tight due to the swelling. I have no known injury to the area. It's a normal color, doesn't feel hot, and I have full range of motion. My legs and calves are not swollen.

I have occasionally had swollen feet if I eat a lot of salt or sit for a long time but that goes away after a few hours. This has been non-stop for over two months and my right foot looks perfectly normal. I have an ultrasound next week to rule out a clot but my doctor examined me and doesn't think it's a clot because it's not extremely swollen and there's no pain. But, like I said, she doesn't seem concerned and she said that some feet are just asymmetrical (which is ridiculous as it wasn't like this last year!)

I'm 29, in good health, perfect blood pressure, normal cholesterol, normal blood work (done 2 months ago), no heart problems, no kidney or liver problems. I don't take any medications and I eat healthy. I try to work out an hour a day but some days are more successful than others!

I work a desk job and use the internet at night a lot so I definitely sit at my computer a lot, which I suspect may be part of the problem. I tend to lean towards my left side and I wonder if I'm cutting off circulation. Sometimes my toes feel numb for a few seconds when I first sit down. If it is due to how I'm sitting, it seems strange that it has lasted this long. I've caught myself sitting with my toes curled under my foot at my desk, if that makes sense. It puts a lot of pressure on the top of the foot so maybe I just keep aggravating it. It's not something I do consciously but I'm trying to be more aware of it. But it still seems like a severe reaction.

I thought I'd check here to see if anyone has any suggestions. Once I rule out blood clots, I have no idea what else it could be. It doesn't really affect my life as my shoes still fit and all but I just know it's not normal for my body! Once the ultrasound comes back I'm going to ask for a referral to a specialist if it doesn't get any better.

Thanks!
