I am usually not up this late to reply, but was outside watching my two sons in law work on my new chicken house. It is looking good. For our supper for the 7 of us, we just had grilled hot dogs, baked beans, potato salad, chips and chocolate cake.

We went out to a buffet and had salad bar, chicken noodle soup, and chicken wings.

We went to a new Japanese restaurant which opened not far from here. What a treat! It was so good, so fresh, and a beauty of a place.

Taco Bell. But last night I made a favorite-it's just large-ish chunks of peeled potatoes boiled and dried to flouriness in the pan after I empty out the water. I have that with onions I've cooked till soft in butter, the whole delicious pile covered in butter and salt.

We had chicken noodle soup because hubby's intestinal tract has been upset today. What a way to celebrate his 80th birthday. I hope the Imodium cures the problem.

I roasted a chicken and veggies, basted with herb butter and wine. Angel food cake with fresh raspberry coulis for dessert.

Mexican food that I did not cook. We ate out.

A bratwurst and potato salad. Lauren went to an overnight party with her friends, so just me. They go every summer, sometimes several times during the summer to one of her friends' grandparents place on a creek. They camp out and swim.

Holiday beans n' wienies. Key Lime Pie.

We had a teeny cute-as-a-button gas barbecue. I can cook anything on the stove but can't bbq worth a crap. Hubby tends to over-cook things on it as well.

We didn't get the use out of it that we could, (going up and down 3 flights of stairs etc). I sold it on Kijiji last week.

We've been looking for an indoor grill and reversible griddle, but the styles have now changed. They're all the George Foreman style, which I don't want.

On a whim, I posted a request on Freecycle and lo and behold, someone had one!! They downsized and gave me theirs. In mint, new condition.

So we used it last nite for the first time and we love it! We have an outlet out on the balcony, and sat out there with the grill.

Grilled chicken breasts, and I pre-cooked sliced potatoes in the microwave and finished them on the grill. Nice seasonings and grill marks. We finished the carrot and pineapple slaw. It was delicious and we're happy,happy.

Roasted a chicken with rosemary and garlic and also roasted veggies. Did my potatoes in oil and onion soup mix, yum.

A flour tortilla that I melted some cheese on, and added some chopped up purple onion.

Went up to babysit the grandsons while DD and SIL went out to dinner with 2 other couples. My DH went to our favorite Italian carry out and got me my usual cheese ravioli and a chicken salad for him. We had a good time topped off with getting the 7 year old to read his first book about a boy nicknamed Stink with me. I read one page and he reads the next.

We didn't go out earlier in the week for my birthday, so last night was my birthday celebration. We went to a tasting/pairing dinner where we had Spanish themed tapas. There was a cheese course, followed by soft shell crab, tamales, chile relleno, and flan for dessert, each paired with a Spanish wine. We very much enjoyed it and it was a different experience than just going out for a normal dinner.
