I hope I'm not taking advantage of her friendship by posting this, but my heart just breaks for her and I know many of you love and care for her also.

(Their sweet dog was also named Sandy.)

I am not up to talking right now, but I just want to let you know that Sandy passed away Sunday morning at 3:30AM. She was having trouble breathing on Saturday but she seemed to be getting better.I held her all night and I think that she was afraid because she had already lost sight in one eye,and I think that she was going blind. I really think that she was scared. So I just layed with her and held her and was praying that she would be able to rest and maybe feel better in the morning.Jim did not want to take her to an emergency room because he thought that they would put her to sleep and he wanted her to be home where she knew where she was.

He and I are having a terrible time dealing with this. He is having a surgery tomorrow at the Heart Care Center do remove the blockage in his left leg. He had the right leg done almost two weeks ago. I am asking that you say special prayers because I am so afraid of him going into this when he is so depressed. I asked him if he wanted to cancel but he wants at least that pain gone,so he can concentrate on the arthritis in his hands and then get back on treatment for the Cancer. Just wanted to let you know and sorry but I can't talk about Sandy without crying. I knew that her time was near,but this is just so hard to handle at this time with everything else that is happening. Please know that I love you all and will be feeling your prayers and will ttys. So sorry to hear about Sandie's dog and her husbands health problems. I will keep them in my prayers..

It's not enough, all the troubles she has gone through lately, she has to lose her dog, too? Some people just seemed to get rained on more than others. In Sandie's case it just seems to be pouring. Prayers and good wishes to Sandie, Jim and the rest of the family. So sorry to hear this.

Sylvia, I got your email. Sorry I haven't responded. I'm dealing with a family situation and had to get mowing, etc, done so I could go out of town tomorrow. As for your cats, your bigger cats are ready for paper bags. Put your cats in the bags and add 2 leaves per cat. You will need to keep a close eye out as to adding new leaves. I usually add leaves about 4 times a day. I use clothes pins to keep the bags closed after folding them over several times. I like using the lunch bags and putting up to 4 cats in a bag. I keep fresh leaves in the fridge for adding to the bags. Put the bags in a bright window so the cats will have light. Open bags carefully as when the cats start pupating, the silk may be between the two sides of the bag. I pull the silk apart very gently so I can put food in for those that haven't pupated. I try to match the cats as far as size, when I put them in bags, so they will pupate at approximately the same time. I would keep your small cats in a container until you can count on them to eat the leaves quickly so the leaves don't dry out before they consume them. Use a small plastic dish with a lid that you can poke holes in to keep the food fresh, or use wet foam designed for making live flower arrangements. Keep the cats in a plastic shoe box or other plastic container. Cover with bridal tulle, sheer curtain fabric, or even the leg from an old pair of panty hose. Put paper towels on the bottom of the container to facilitate ease of cleaning. Clean out frass daily or more often as it accumulates. Frass in paper bags is easy to dump out. When the cats in the paper bags have pupated. Cut around them and tape them to the sides of your mesh hamper. Use a towel as a cover to keep BFs from escaping before you get to see them and check them out. I've also used a piece of old curtain sheer that I attach to the top of the hamper with 4 clothes pins, one on each side. Good luck, Sandy

Oh My, I knew I should have kept Linda for my Secret Santa. LOL If ya'll have been keeping up with everything it appears that everyone is a winner so far with their exchanges. Sandy, Linda went to alot of trouble getting your stuff to Canada so it would get to you before Christmas. She had to make sure stuff was going to make it through customs and so forth. Linda, you did a great job and I'm thrilled that you were able to get it to Sandy on time. You really are a remarkable woman. I was at wits end as I didn't know what to do about the stuff going through customs. We will all be anxious to see photos of your new brugs later on Sandy. You lucky lady you! Nice haul! Surprised your wife hated Florigon....that one usually does well. Po Pyu Kalay is good if you like Nam Doc Mai-ish mangoes. I know the feeling of the car reeking of ripening fruit too, haha. Just made a trip down to Pine Island today (the island, not the nursery) to buy some more fruit and visit some growers. Made the 'pilgrimage to Harry's yard' last week as well along with some stops along the way. My favorite from Harry's may have actually been Tong Dam (sp?). Had a very rich and creamy flavor.:

Hi woodie2.It is good but the good thing is that the casserole gives Jim several meals. He even likes it for breakfast. Shingen Noodle old German Recipe 1 lb. ham, diced 1 onion margarine or butter enough to brown the onion and ham 1 lb. egg noodles 4 eggs 1 qt. milk Cook egg noodles combine in a casserole dish combine egg noodles,eggs,milk blend until almost covered add ham and onions bake at 350 degrees 30 to 45 minutes mix at least twice while baking bake unto almost dry Enjoy!

God love her, she's having a hard time and rightly so. I pray all will turn out in Jim's favor and that they have a few giggles thrown in with the sadness.

thank you for sharing...please let her know we've been in the same situation...it has to be hard on her dh..my cats were my constant companions for 2 surgeries, chemo ect....maybe there will be another pet partner later on when the time is right...

I feel her pain over losing her beloved pet. They are family. All I can do is pray for Sandy and her husband. I truly hope they can get relief from the physical and emotion pain they are dealing with.

Very sorry for their loss.

We had to put our beautiful red doberman down three weeks ago. They take a part of us with them when they go.

Lana,thank you so much for posting.I just couldn't come here before tonight. Jim came through the surgery like the trooper that he is.He is home already.They kept him for a few hours then let him come home.He says that he can feel the difference in both legs already.The doctor was pleased how well it went and how well he is responding.Thank you all so much for your thoughts and prayers.You know how much I believe in and count on prayers. I know that a lot of you know the pain that we are feeling with our loss of Sandy. I am just thankful that she was not home alone while she was leaving us.She gave us 14 wonderful years and she is now at rest.

Sandie, I've been thinking of you and Jim so much and just wanted to share with our KT family who are here for you always.

Such a great report about Jim's surgery!! A real blessing.

You know I understand your heartbreak about your precious Sandy girl. I know she felt your love and comfort until she had to leave.
