I meant to do the thread yesterday, then got tied up with cooking, and watching tv.

Tonite I was going to start it, and there you are!!!

It's a cool and rainy day today and now it's thundering. Yuck.

Yesterday I made bread, a rhubarb crisp, pork tenderloin and oven-fried chicken that was marinating in buttermilk. I took advantage of the oven being on for the bread, to bake/roast other things. Yesterday was a holiday so the hydro rates were off-peak.

Tonite we had the fried chicken, along with sauteed corn/peppers/black beans, kale and brown rice.

Rhubarb pie will be for dessert a little later.

NY Strips, some kind of veggie and a large tossed salad, fresh strawberries for dessert

We had pulled pork sandwiches and coleslaw. Our day was beautiful, sunny and temperate.

It has been another really beautiful day here today and it still is so hubby is going to grill some burgers on the bbq.
Oh I forgot to add that I got some really nice veggies on a stick so we will also have the veggie shish kabobs too.

I was not surprised that Shirley started the dinner thread as she does Tuesdays and Fridays. My main meal though would have been breakfast. My supper was a McDonald's fish sandwich and a strawberry and cream pie. We planted garden and it was really hot out today, over 80.

Jasdip: I try to do the same thing with using the oven... don't always accomplish it. Your supper sounds delicious.

Sidnee: Steak is on my top 5 list of favorites. Fresh strawberries sound so appetizing to me right now. Have to wait a few wks for our area.

Pam: I'm glad you had such a nice day. And what a nice end to it with the pulled pork, etc. Haven't had that for a long time.

Raven: Your meal sounds like it would be good, colorful, and eye catching.

Sue: Another McDonald's meal. Did you ever try their new pastries? I had the raspberry ones once. They were okay.

Mikado of raw vegetables, crescenza cheese with a tapenade vinaigrette, rainbow roasted beet salad with fresh goat cheese, soft shell crab and chocolate and caramel ice cream served on a tulle basket.

You probably guessed that I went out for dinner. Today was our 30th anniversary and we went to a local French restaurant. Although we live close by, this is our first time here. (DH is not not one for French food, but wanted to make things extra special for me) He enjoyed everything and we will certaianly go back.

Ellendi: Boy am I glad you added that you went out. I didn't understand a lot of those words and was thinking you must be a chef. lol Glad that you and your husband enjoyed your anniversary.

Well I sorta made ziti & kielbasa bake, but changed it up a bit...one I didn't have any ziti so I used rotini, did have klielbasa. decided to add a zucchini & a squash that I had sauted in the kielbasa pan mixed it all together put it in a casserole dish and covered with 3 different cheeses & covered in tin foil.& baked it at 350 for 30 minutes. Had a big salad to go with it and called it dinner.

It will be a repeat meal

Yogurt & salad. Boooring!!

We split a three egg omelet filled with ham, asparagus tips, and gruyere.

Chocolate cake and ginger ale. Oh, geez...
