Newhostalady, the link below will take you to the website called myhostas.be They have quite a few features, the most interesting for me is the HOSTA SPORTS. The other part you can type in the name of a hosta, and it will give you the info culled from nursery catalogs, maybe from AHS registry, cannot verify that though, and then on the side a running list (with links where applicable) to the sports and the hybrids credited to that hosta. It is grrrrreatttt. With the sports section, you begin with a list of hosta which have sports, alphabetically listed, and the number of sports is in parentheses after the name. Click on the name and go to the expanded "family tree". The further UP the family tree you go, the more generations are shown. For instance, begin with plantaginea for all the sports in that species. Looking up the same named hosta in the NAMES SEARCH, you will find there all the progeny-- the hybrids, as well as the sports. Don't know about the Schmid book. I usually read the hosta info on the HostaLibrary.org site where he is publishing his updates to species and such. @Tracy, sorry for very late reply, I just saw your comment. I did notice creaking at some areas while it was still being installed and I pointed out to my installer. Apparently, although I had the floors leveled right before installation, it wasn’t leveled enough. So I asked him to remove the floors, re-level the concrete and reinstall. That fixed the issue for me. Now my floors don’t creak at all. Not even slightly. It’ll be 3 years in couple of months since installation and thankfully still no issues. 🤞

Am I making any sense? " Just trim the seam allowence where the legs are...wrap around the leg and then continue stapeling. You can go back later and apply hot glue behind the welt by the legs -- if it's necessary... BTW ... that's the way it's done professionally. Barb, our chair was purchased in 1972, it was covered in brown valour with a seperate attached cushion (like yours, only it was tufted) when we re-upholstered it this last time, I wanted it to be different, so we left off the skirt and made the back solid (and tufted)instead of an attached cushion look... Just dive into that chair head first, and don't be afraid, it's only the welt, You can do it! Post the finished look, for us to admire. :)

Too late. I found the black bricks set vertically very distracting. I liked the looks of the bottom from the mantel on down. I would have painted the above portion same as the wall color and left the rest. But I don't think gray for the walls works with the fireplace so it was probably best to wipe all the color out of the bricks. Hopefully you are happy with your results.
