We saw the place in Ft Worth/Alvarado where we bought our coach so we stopped in to say hello and they talked us into trading our coach foe a new one. They will drive it to Kerrville and pick up ours after we get home because it will not be re day for thre. E weeks...it's really pretty and I am so excited. On a walk behind type of mower, not self-propelled--what does horse-power have to do with cutting grass? HMMM?? Will .5 additional H.P. have any appreciable effect on the power of the machine? Oh, yes, maybe if the operator runs it into 6 ft. high grass that has never been mowed, or cut in any way. Maybe the additional .5 of H.P. will allow the blade to turn 4 more times before it gets stalled out by the thick grass? I have always thought that stating the amount of H.P. was just an advertising gimmick, meant to fool the average homeowner into thinking he might have something much better than his neighbor! now, if the H.P. rating was being used to make a self-propelled mower move along better--well--how much faster would it move, and could the person using it keep up with it? Go figure-- And, as for the goof driving the motor home, who thought they could get up out of the drivers seat and go fix lunch, while under way (That means moving along) should be in the "funny farm", not in court! I drive a motor home, and we've often said we would be able to do that, but only said it in jest (jokingly) as i consider us, my wife and I, to be smarter than to try that, even though we might get enrichened by some smart lawyer. ;o)

US car companies have struggled to produce successful diesel engines, It's funny because their subsidiaries abroad (like Ford and GM's Opel in Germany) have been selling diesel engined passenger cars since forever. I've had at least one, sometimes two, German made diesel-engined cars continuously since the late 70s. They're fast (turbochargers), fun to drive, get great mileage and last forever. US versions are bound to be better now than before, but I'm not sure what their problems have been. I'd avoid bio-diesel. Vegetable sourced diesel fuel contains one or more substances that can cause parts like hoses and seals/gaskets to break down. I know in the two cars I have now, it's a no-no. There is a blend called B10 (which is 90 % conventional, 10 % veggie) that's supposed to be better tolerated but I, frankly, can't think up an advantage to using it. Good luck with your new toys.

First thing to do is ask the PoCo if they have any installation requirements. They will trump all when it comes to the placement, wiring, and configuration of the meter. Frankly, I'm not sure exactly what you are proposing. Normally, you are not permitted more than one "service" in a structure. There are a few exceptions in the NEC, none would seem to apply for an EV meter. So, I'm going to start assuming that we're talking about a single service here. Yes, you are right that there six throw rule. If between the "main panel" and your "EV panel" you can shut off the power to the entire service with six handle throws or less, you can do this if the panels are located together. If they aren't colocated, you have a bunch of other problems. As for ground-to-neutral bonding. You must bond at the service disconnect so, in the above scenario, both panels would have the bond jumper. Now it is possible that your AHJ may permit the EV charging drop as a separate service. In that case, each one stands alone (you have a separate six throw rule for each one), and both definitely need be grounded. The another possibility is that the utility will say NO to your plans and mandate a single disconnect ahead of the taps for your existing service and the new EV meter.

You had me fooled there for a minute! I can see why you would want it though.
My husband has been looking at new ones too. I love the one we have just wish the bathroom was bigger.
Some day we will probably move up but for now we are sure enjoying the one we have.

LOL Ruthie, you had me fooled too. I thought how lucky you were to have someone empty your present RV into your new one. That was a nightmare when we got our motor home.

Love the new one you loved. It is amazing when you go through the new models on the lot and drool. Then you see the price tag and remember why you love yours. LOL

AAHHHHH,,,ya got me.... I was so excited that I didn't see your post saying you were kidding... There sure are some jim dandy RV's out there..... I never thought we could afford the Big Horn we got... but ran into a deal that had is less than half price..(used one season )...

Ruthie, I copied and pasted the link and had no problem thinking that I could live in that the rest of my life!!! I tried very hard not to be jealous - it didn't work. I really am happy for you and your husband that you've had a wonderful trip and have plans for FL next time. A small country could use this pictured one as their headquarters.

Honestly, it's not even something I would want..just thought how nice it was. Their are many people that we have met on the Road that sold their homes, bought a bad AZ RV and hit the road for their retirement years. I think if you were going to live in it, maybe, but not for us. We travel with a dog and it would be covered in dog hair in a month and I'd be the one talking care of it. We have a Fleetwood encounter. It was a new 2010 when we bought it in 2010.. We got a great deal because the 2013's were just out and they still had this 2010 and were very anxious to get rid of it. They ate all but $60 of the depreciation...people are shocked when they find out how little we paid for it.

If anyone wants to see our actual rv it's like this one except foe the area over the seats in front. We have a tv and two cabinets. No bed. It has a front dinette and back but we keep the front one made into a bed all the time. Molly rides there and husband and Molly sleep there a lot.

We love to drool over RV's and have attended the Hershey show the last several years.
You need to decide what you want to see before you get there!
All are divided by class and there are dozens and dozens of each style. - close to 1000 different RV's
The show ranks #18 out of the top 250 largest tradeshows in the US.
We just bought our used 5th wheel last year and love it!

The last time we stopped for propane they had a bunch of small campers/trailers and I just walked down the line peeking inside and was amazed at how much they get into small trailers.. The big ones are incredible..friends of ours have a new truck camper because they hike in different mountain ranges and I was shocked at what they have in such a small space. The truck camper they bought lifts hydraulically off the truck bed and stands alone like a regular camper ..amazing.

You are right about having an idea of what you want when you go shopping for an RV... We started getting serious about looking about a year and a half ago...and fell in love with the Bighorn by Heartland.... it was the size Larry wanted, but the one we wanted was out of our league financially... so we waited and shopped around here and there when the spirit moved us... and then one pretty day.. Larry said he wanted to go for a drive and have lunch out someplace... so off we went, and ended up looking at RV's.. and went to Missouri and there she was... our Bighorn and it was less than half the original price.. used just one season... and just as clean as a brand new one. We decided that this was the one and so Larry bought it on the spot after finagling a bit better price and some extra goodies.. What was awesome was that the original owner had ordered several upgrades besides... We did the paperwork and then picked it up a few days later... and haven't looked back since...

this is our RV. We don't travel with it though. We use as a vacation spot on mountain property we own.
The only major upgrade we did was to put a nice mattress in and new bedding.

exterior of it, it has rear living room with huge window which I love. When we park at the lake the big window is always facing the water.

This is identical to the one Larry has and lived in for 9 years in Missouri... right down to the color of the carpet...,.He built a stick built building around it, and so it can't be moved unless we take out an end wall in the building.. It is only 33 feet, so kind of tight for us and the 3 pups plus kids when they join us..... but he is considering giving it to his brother to use...since we don't need it anymore... We sure enjoyed it though...

I have enjoyed looking at everyone's RV's... Thank you all for sharing...

Country Sunshine I love the Big Horn. The one my husband has been looking at has a very similar layout with the double slide in the rear entertainment area. I really like the kitchen with Island.
All of these are very nice.
Ours is an ultra light which is what we wanted because it pulls great with the half ton King Ranch F 150 we have. If we were to get the bigger fifth wheel we will have to get a bigger truck. He would of course love that lol. What is your truck?

We have a 3/4 ton Chevrolet Silverado Dura Max / Allison.. Larry got the truck with pulling an RV in mind besides his other 25' utility trailer he hauls his backhoe and tractors on. He paid over $50,000 for it....but it has bells & whistles we haven't even discovered yet and shes a "hoss".. It pulls the Big horn effortlessly..

That's a nice one. Yeah when you have equipment like that to haul you need to spend the money for your truck. If we had known or had a clue we would be getting the rv he definitely would have bought a bigger truck.
Now I am looking at the Big Horns and found a couple with floor plans I really like, any of them will definitely require a new truck.
I told him if he wants the new truck he needs to sell some of the Harleys! LOL
