This is the one Larry liked and got for us. They deliver it next Monday....I love it....hope it cooks as good as it looks !! He said he wants to get a matching French door refrig in the fall....and put the Maytag in the garage or basement for his cold dinks....

Carolyn......how about a double oven with 4 burners on top AND a griddle in the middle?

You can get sealed burners without getting a solid glass top. Glass breaks. Gas is nice......

Nicole.... I have a really nice griddle that my DD gave me for Christmas and use it all the time,,, especially in the RV since I absolutely hate cooking with gas. This one has a double oven in one....which I like better than the regular double ovens... The regular ones have the bottom one sooo low that I would have issues getting anything heavy out of it.. I had a glass stove top in Florida and never had a problem with it at all , and I even used cast iron and used heavy canners on it..I loved it... but Bob pretty much picked out the appliances for this house,,, and we both thought we would like Maytag...Big mistake!! My old stove has a griddle which I liked but I like glass top better...

You will love the glass top! Mine still looks like new and we got it maybe 4 years ago. I cook a lot. Mine also has a crockpot burner which I love.

I have a Samsung stove like that but a slightly older model. The door has never closed properly and one burner was bad when we got it, new. Then that same burner went out again. Then the main fuse blew the first time I cleaned the oven. I am not thrilled with Samsung appliances. We had issues with the fridge and micro, too. Hope you have better luck with yours.

I'd appreciate advice on a slide-in electric stove. I need to replace the glass top one at our condo. I am leaning towards plain old element burners because the cleaners (and/or the guests) made short work of ruining the cooking surface on the existing dark glass top. (No gas supply there.)

Will I have to give up 'open door' broiling on new stoves? I hate broiling with the door closed -- wet meat!

My niece has Samsung appliances and loves them....she purchased them a few years back when she bought her first home....I was looking at whirlpool, but Larry lkes Samsung better & since he is paying for it...besides...he can be mighty persuasive with vendors when it comes to standing behind a product...
Gas is not an option here either.....and I am not getting it installed ..... I hate cooking on gas anyway...so that is not even in the equation.

My glass top in Florida looked as good as new after about 10 years of use and it was that white corning stuff...I have the old type coil burners now and am forever having to take apart the stove top to clean it...ugh so this will be nice I think...

Countrysunshine-what do you mean it has a double oven in one? Are you talking about the Samsung Flexduo? I'm debating on that one. I too, wouldn't want to lift a heavy turkey practically off the floor! Not to mention basting. The flexduo has a slide in partition to make 2 separate ovens at different temps.

You should check and make sure you can use your canner on a glass top. Many of them say you can't and I know you like to can things.

I'm not Country, Ruthie, but a little research I was doing earlier in the year let me find that Samsung is one of the few smooth stove top manufacturers who does at least strongly hint that their smooth topped stoves are fine for home canning. They say: Not for anything commercially intended. Their description address both the weight, and the constant, not fluctuating, burner heat - which are both an issue with my Jenn Air. I haven't done anything but a little water bath canning on my Jenn Air, I'm 'chicken'. No pressure cooker on it, I know from cooking on it the burner heat does fluctuate up and down. It was in this house when we bought last year, not one I chose.

There was a gorgeous French doored, bottom mount freezer Samsung refrigerator on sale at Home Depot that was 'speaking' to me, but I'm not ready to replace my Amana quite yet, and I did have some trouble finding long term reliability info on the Samsung. They certainly are pretty though!

My canning days are limited these days....Just a bit of boiling water bath anymore....but it can handle a heavy canner....so they say...With that rod in my spine, I can no longer bend like I used to..Plus my arthritis has really limited my mobility like I never dreamed possible.... but it's all good....I am still able to enjoy doing lots of things,,,,,just not like I used to...Larry keeps telling me to slow down...LOL

It appears that Larry has been doing his homework regarding kitchen ranges,,,,and he already knows what I like and don't like, so I trust him with with these tasks...He is extremely comfortable in the kitchen.....he owned an eatery too...so we have that in common as well...

We are already talking French door fridge next !! =0)

We have the 4 Samsung 4 door fridge. Its great-super roomy and easy to clean. No issues so far in the first 2 years.

Lisa ~ My niece has the Samsung 4 door an totally loves it,,,Thanks for the the review on it..We considered getting that along with the stove.....but the sales guy said that the price is coming down 0n labor day PLUS it will be on sale then as well....so would be worth the wait on it....
