Just started watching Damages on Netflix

How did I miss this show? It is really good, at least the first two episodes were. And I have several seasons to watch, yippee! I guess do remember hearing how good Glenn Close was in it, but the acting is superb and the story is great. The first season is 2007 and it's funny to see all the characters with their flip phones.

Oh yes, Damages is excellent. Each season has a different "theme" but they all tie in. Agreed about Glenn Close, an amazing actress. Enjoy!

Hubby loved Damages. I hadn't seen it, that's one we could put on our watch list, now that Scandal is finished.

We're still riveted with Blacklist and we also really like Homeland. Rizzoli and Isles we love as well! It's good for a "lighter" show.

Harry's Law was also terrific, and I only saw a few of the shows at the end. Hmmmm another one on the must-watch list.

I don't think "Scott & Bailey" is London-based. Maybe Birmingham? (Thank heavens for closed captions!) I see Ruth Wilson (from "Luther") has won a Golden Globe for "The Affair". We were enthralled with 'Alice', her crazy character in "Luther". (Now to find "The Affair"!) Right now we are using Redbox and watching recordings from "Downton Abbey". Just recorded the first "Grantchester".

Deer damage...start over?

Is that vertical growing in the pic? I know that deer fence will work the best but last year for something quick I found a motion sensing sprinkler (Amazon) fairly cheap, quick, and easy to setup. This year I re-arranged some beds to fit into a 20x20ft area then found it would cost me about $300 -400 to do this that way I want to - not including labor or replacing any of the beds. So I think I will go with the motion sprinklers again this year. Harbor Freight also has some motion sensors to let you know when things are moving about so I used both. This is to get my attn. only. IME - once they have found your garden- the deer do remember where to find dinner. IF yours is like mine when she has babies she brings them back to teach them what she found. CON - remembering to turn the sprinkler OFF when going into the garden area. I was smart enuff to set mine up where I can walk up behind it to turn it OFF but there is also a setting so it only goes off in darkness too. Hence the HF motion sensor :)

I cut my cable, so after watching the news (I have an indoor antenna that picks up all my big network stations), I switch to Netflix or Acorn TV (British shows). Fairly new on Netflix, I loved Ozark and Wanted. On Acorn TV, I've watched Australian TV, such as A Place to Call Home, Crownies, Janet King, and now Jack Irish -- all with Marta Dusseldorf. I finished watching George Gently and Doc Martin. A few of these, I had started watching on PBS, but now don't have to wait until they've finished in Britain before airing on my local PBS.

CindyMac, I have to retract my favorable comments re: Handmaids Tale as we just finished watching the 2nd season. Without giving anything away, some character's took a bizarre explicable turn which cheapened the story. And it was torture porn without any emotional relief. To lighten up, we are watching THE QUEER EYE on Netflix. Although some of the antics are a bit MUCH, the transformations are enjoyable.

We watched it regularly for several seasons but then closer to the end it just lost much of the focus of the original and was not nearly as good, it lost the strong hold on us.

It's a great series. After getting a tip about it from a friend, I've managed over time to watch the five seasons available on Netflix. I enjoyed them all, I thought in particular the acting and writing (the characters, their relationships and the plot twists) were superb.

Rhizo, we'll have to compare notes. I couldn't stop watching last night, I'm embarrassed to admit. I think I watched 5 episodes and had to talk myself down from watching another! Our weather has been awful, but when it eventually turns nice I'll have a ton of yard work to do, so I'm taking advantage of it now.
