You just need a comfortable haircut. I also don't like hair on my face or sweeping over my eyes. Get a haircut that sweeps to the side.

I like shoulder length. For me I don't think I could pull off a really short haircut due to my frizzy textured hair.

Also three important words: product,product and product! It takes a while to learn what works but very few people have wash and wear hair.

I was just the opposite. I've always had longish hair. It's chin length now. One time I cut it short and it drove me nuts. My hair is straight. In order to look like my hair was not plastered to my head, I had to arrange it every day. I missed being able to pull it into a pony tail (even with stragglers). So after that experiment, I grew it long again and I'm sticking with it.

I know it's been a year, but it sounds like you're just at that awkward stage. Not long enough to tame with a ponytail holder, but long enough to be in your face.

Maybe you can keep letting it grow out it a little while longer. Let get long enough to be able to completely pull it back. And wavy?? Oh how I wish I had even a BEND in my poker straight hair. haha.

I agree with ellendi, product! Really makes all the difference in managing hair.

I can't imagine anything but shirt hair...I am so wash and wear.

Growing out hair is a painful process. I grew mine out for several years before I was happy with it. Got it down to the middle of my back. It was a struggle but then it was great! Pony tails were (relatively) easy but I am style challenged. My hair is thin textured but I have a lot of it, straight as a board, sheds product and won't hold a curl. Because of the sleekness of the hair, pony tail holders and other hair accessories just fall out. I never blow dry it. Always air dry.

In the past year, I've decided to go back to the chin/shoulder length bob. It suits my hair best. I do miss pulling it back out of my face for exercising. Now I have to wear a hat and it still blows around when it's windy.

We never are happy with our hair, are we? :)

Although long hair is more work, I wouldn't be "me" without it. Tried it short once and hated it.

I am wash and wear also, I do not like putting products in my hair, I have to wash it so much more often then. I never blow dry it just makes my hair bigger. I have wavy/curly/straight hair~~for me it is all about the cut, if I have a good cut it all falls into place very nicely. I have decided to go grey and see how it looks YIKES! A few weeks ago I went to my 3rd new stylist in about 10 months~~~it was the worst hair cut of my life and I have had some bad ones. I ended up going to my DD's stylist, a week later. WOW I was so excited, she cut it dry so she could work with the waves and and curls, she used texturing sissors they reall released the waves and curls;)

I had been growing my hair out wanting to have a bob~~ended up with it very short agian, since the cut was so horrible and he had done it way short in the back and my sides were to my chin~~I do not know what he was thinking~~she cut it short like I have pretty much always in years and years worn it. Now the grey will grow out faster and be less noticeable* I love it, she gave me one of the best short cuts I have ever had;) I think I will stay short from now on~~~who am I trying to kid I am a 'short hair kinda gal'~~

Chin length or shorter has been 'me' for a long time. Cut & Color every five weeks. I considered going grey -- for about two months. What a relief to be 'rejuvinated' with just hair color. Now...about my sags and wrinkles...

If my hair gets in my way, I pull back a swath from the middle of my forehead and fasten it with a comb near my crown.

I am a short haired person too. My hair is about as straight as it can get. I also hate my grey hair so I have it cut and colored every 7-8 weeks. I love it!!! I blow dry it to give it some body that way I don't look like a man. I use mousse, and two kinds of hair spray. One for texturing and one for "freezing". I use a hot brush to give it more body and I like it. I am very happy with my hair now. I know it takes some work but it is worth it.

I have been growing my hair out for 2+ years. Got it long enough for DSs wedding, but I did not like all the ends flipping up all over. Just had it cut to ear lobe length, and I like it but I am not sure. I don't like how the wind blows my hair in my face. I had quite long hair till I had babies. With each baby's arrival, I whacked off more length till I ended up with a pixie sort of.

I hated all the time and expense coloring my prematurely grey hair. For decades I have not bothered, and it has been white for years and years. Easy care is what I need as I have no talent for styling my hair.

I have short hair and keep it that way. I do not like fussing with it. No curlers for me just blow dry or air dry if I am really lazy.

I had extremely long hair all of my life. In college and med school it was past my waist. I cut it mid back length in the 80's and let it go curly for the big hair days.
Last week, my hair lady decided to just cut it all off lol. I told her to do what ever she wanted but I wanted it short since it was now summer. Boy did she take me seriously. It might be an inch long on top but the back nope. But it is very easy, fast, and much cooler. Some of the chemo meds I have to take make me sweat like crazy from my head and also make my hair fall out and unfortunately it is all falling out right on top the back is still nice and thick and curly. Top is sparse and thin and fairly straight so with it all cut short it is less noticeable and it all blends in nicely.
I let it grow some during the winter months but don't like it below my collar. I never would have thought I would ever have my hair short after having it so so long for such a major portion of my life.
Older= want it easy!
