Yes, sadly, he was hit by a car. He disappeared on Tues night last week but didn't get home until next morning. After many tears and my heart will never heal from the pain, today he seems to be not a lot better as far as his right hip is concerned. The "roadrash"(bad skinned places) is beginning to heal, Praise God for this. He was just in my bedroom while I was getting everything ready for sleep and he cried out in pain. Oh my heart! There isn't much to be done. He takes an anti-inflamatory drug daylily. Now we just have to wait to see for about another week to 10 days if the Dr decides he needs surgery. He's HAPPY! Eats up the loving, scratching places he can't reach and his appitete is really good. All of this is encouraging, just his hip. He walks with a terrible limp, but he can still move faster than me!! He goes outside with me, but he is on a long leash line and tied where he can watch but not run off. So is my older dog and this is not making either of them happy. I just can't let him go yet. I'm afraid he might run off again and get into so much pain that he would lay down somewhere or might even get in the road again. I what I would give for a fensed in yard. We were the only house on a dead end road for about 8 years. Now, we have a subdivision on 3 sides and one planned for the back side. It's been a hard adjustment for my dogs and me too. We liked our peace and quiet. We have an acre on the west side, then our house is on an acre and then another acre on the east side. The road is in front and an open field in back that our dogs have ran rabbits since we have been here for 15 years. They just do not understand why they can't run and play like they used to. Jazz has only been here for 6 months but the other two have been here 10 years and 5 years. Oh how we resist change! I do want to thank all of you again for your prayers and kind words. Sigh...dlm, you've hit the nail on the head. With this marital issue going on, the kids are being a bit withdrawn, and this is causing me some strife. DS is feeling extremely overwhelmed right now, he told me he's having a hard time sleeping and now he's going to go to counselling to help transition back to the real life. I hope that in a few months things will smooth out for everyone and my son will feel better. I am learning how to let the birdies leave the nest all over again! It's hard, but I can say that I am now sleeping better and can finally breathe, knowing he's free, safe and far from that horrible place.

I know you said you and he talked and a lot of things came out, but I can't be certain what those things were. I don't need to know of course. I am just concerned for stating any obvious points you already know and have already addressed with him. I'm really glad you had the courage to tell him some things that were on your mind. You do need counseling because when it comes to relationships and marriage, I think almost all women need counseling, so please don't neglect that. The problem is, all too often, women do exactly as you have been doing, which is to live their lives by their guy's permission and approval and then not addressing their issues for fear of losing him. Where the need for counseling is concerned, I'm saying you are just like most in this respect and while that surely will help with your self esteem, your sense of worth, and, thereby, your confidence, counseling will not provide you with what is needed for your marriage.
