i am planning to make a terracotta pot bell tower (idea from pinterest) to hang on a shepherds hook in one of my flower gardens. what spray or paint on sealer would you recommend for painted terracotta pots? tia ;) i'd post a pic of it, but i don't know how!!

Linda, to post a picture, I use tinypic.com (http://tinypic.com/). If you have the pictures stored on your computer, go to tiny pic, upload your photos, copy the first url and come back here and paste it - your picture should show up in the preview option. If it worked, add your message and submit it.

Another website to use is Photobucket.
Download your photos to photobucket, and right click the image and click on HTML code. (It will say copied).

Come here and right click in the message box and your photo will show up in the Preview message box.

Marilyn what do you sell? I'd love to see pics of your displays. Re packing: We have a lot of empty 4 gal joint compound buckets (you can also buy new pretty colored ones at HD) that I layered the wrapped plate flowers in. I put out a call to friends for bubble wrap and packing materials so I didn't have to pay for it. I also put some wrapped plate flowers in a metal milk crate that was part of the display. The wrapping comes in handy when you sell. What did you use for bags? My favorite bags to put the sold items in were 12x12 clear scrapbooking bags that I had saved from when I used to buy lots of sb paper. I actually called my friend who used to have a sb business to see if she had any leftover bags, but she didn't. I may invest in some of these bags if I do it again. I put my flyer so it showed from the outside throught the clear plastic and the wrapped plate flower fit perfectly inside. Kathy

I mig weld stainless flatware but it discolors it quite a bit. I'd use an epoxy if I couldn't weld. I think solder wouldn't be strong enough. good luck.

I did that once, years ago, but did it the other way around... First, I had bought a gold leaf bamboo frame that I liked, at a tag sale. Then, I purchased a stretched canvas to fit the frame. I found the perfect piece of fabric that I liked, it was sort of like a toile, that had a Japanese scene. I centered the scene over the canvas, and pulled it taught, and just stapled it all around..and voila!! as you said, Instant Art. It was a very simple project. Funny thing... when I sold my old house, I had a tag sale, and sold it...lol... It's not a hard thing to do..just have to line up all the right elements to make it work. Hope this was helpful. jane

I have done some painting and stamping with acrylic paints on terra cotta pots.

I used clear Krylon spray paint, with the matte finish.

I sprayed several light coats on it - both on the inside and outside. You need to do the inside too - to keep the moisture from coming through. It doesn't last forever, but it does for quite a long time, especially if the pots are not right directly out in the weather.

Putting it as simple as I know how:

First, find your picture, right click and save to your computer then go to step 1.

1. Have a photo storage place, like Photobucket or Tiny pic (I prefer tinypic.com)
Use the first set of codes (HTML for Websites) for the Garden web/ KT
some of the other message boards use the second set of codes (IMG Code for Forums & Message Boards) (MH)
2. Paste this code in the message box
3. Preview your message, make sure it came out like you wanted.
4. Click Submit...your done!
