I liked Don Knotts too and thought he was a great addition to the show. I never cared for Suzanne Sommers or any of her replacements. Happy days was a great show, but they dragged it out for way too long. I always thought it was funny how Ritchie's brother Chuck disappeared on episode two. My favorite show was/is Seinfeld and while I was devastated when the show ended, I thought the timing was right and that they left on a high note. Same for Mary Tyler Moore and Everybody Loves Raymond.

Thank you for the kind thoughts-Christmas was bittersweet at times, and there were some group tears moments-but over all it was fun-DD and DS-in-L were in from the West Coast and we enjoyed our half of their visit. After an autumn of comfort rereading, I am moving on-first I read Sister Queens by Julia Fox-a tandem biography of Catherine of Aragon (1st wife of Henry VIII) and Juana of Castile, queen of Aragon and Castile in her own right and mother of a Holy Roman Emperor. Interesting parallels even though they met only once after Catherine left for England at age 16. Now I am treating myself with Miss Buncle's Book by D.E. Stevenson. Charming, light, a bonbon. Work has started up again-deadline on the 3rd-so reading time will become slim and precious. For BookClub in January we will be reading Killing Lincoln

As I mentioned on the other thread, I love watching clips of Craig Ferguson on his talk show, but I don't find his stand up routine as funny. Bob Newhart's old routines like the one as a driver's education instructor crack me up. Kathleen Madigan had one routine about being a server in a Mexican food restaurant that made me laugh, but that's the only one. I agree with others that watching Robin Williams on a riff on a talk show was always funnier than his stand up.

Fun2BHere...my kitties are famous for doing the same thing...one's black, one's gray so no matter what I wear it's covered. Who needs a fur coat when you have cats or dogs???
