Lunar Eclipse tonight...

There will be a Lunar Eclipse tonight and the moon will be red, called "Blood Moon"... prime viewing time is 2am to 3:30am here in Oklahoma which is I believe Central standard time?... anyway it should be a pretty sight... I am definitely going to set my alarm and go outside, hopefully the sky will be clear and we won't be having tornadoes, high wind, rain, hail or snow like in the past 24 hours!...

I would love to see this but I think we will be having clouds and rain. wouldn't you know. I hope all of the rest of you get to see it.

I hope our marine layer here at the coast doesn't show up so we can see the eclipse.
Hope someone here takes some good pictures to share.

I looked up the details on an European website and knew about the time difference, but forgot to adjust for it. LOL. Stayed awake until one, nothing happening, waited an hour, nothing happening. Checked the puter again and laughed. Was up half the night anyway, so stayed up for the rest and went out to watch it. It was cool last night, enough for a flannel wrap. The moon was the size of a volkswagen and I watched the sky monsters start eating the top of it. The sky was clear as crystal, but fogs lay over the lowlands and the music was tree frog string sounds with the occasional rooster filling in for the cornets. At five thirty, I gave up and crashed and surviving on alka seltzers this a.m. and it's your fault.

We had planned on going outside and playing in the snow for an hour or two tonight to watch it, but it's going to be tooooo cold, so we'll be watching from inside. We'll likely go out on the balcony off of our bedroom periodically to get a better look. Sophie is incredibly excited. We've looked at pictures of lunar eclipses, and talked about why it happens and stuff. It's supposed to be clear here tonight, so we should get a good view. Oh Gayle - I just read your response - a fire is a good idea!! We have a firepit in the backyard. Why didn't I think of that? :)

Thanks Patty! Will check into it! Love the star drapped sky, the moon.......I did smell rose fragrance in the air, have to find out which one........will report it back the rose name...... I think the fragrant roses are Intrigue and Miss All American Beauty. Beautiful scent! :-) If I see more these roses at Walmart next year, I'd buy them all! Miss All American Beauty was from Walmart, Intrigue roses were from Breck's bargain sales-5 for $19.99.

We've got that marine layer here already, it started blowing in about 4. I'd really hoped to see the blood moon, looks pretty iffy right now :( Last night, I think we could have seen it.

It will happen 4 times over the next 2 years, then not for many, many years. So if you can't see it tonight, you have 3 other chances.

I SAW it! I SAW it! I was up to use the bathroom a little after two a.m. and was surprised to see our snow clouds had scattered enough for me to see the orange moon -- and a planet. I think Mars and Saturn are both 'up with me' in the night recently. It was beautiful and made more dramatic by the clouds passing over it.

It was a beautiful, clear night here until about 9:30 when the marine layer moved in.....darn it.
