no room for shower door...need feedback on curtain/liner
Comments (10)Our tub-shower combo in our very small front bathroom had a sliding glass door, which we hated. So we removed it during the remodel of the room. I tried various shower curtains - trying to get the best look - and settled on a clear liner and nothing more. It doen't interfere with the nice elements of the "new" bathroom and it doesn't use much visual space. To clean a clear liner, just put it in the washing machine on warm/warm, with a couple of tablespoons of baking soda. It will be sparkling fresh and you simply rehang it to dry. Shower liners are not "lovely", but they are clean and unobtrusive....See Morecleaning a shower curtain liner daily with what??
Comments (5)MDH--Hi!! the shower liner is vinyl, the nice hotel style--10 bucks at BB&B, but I guess I'll just buy one every month or so. :( Graywings-- lord I wish I could change the water filter etc.......wish I could change A LOT, but it's a rental. :((((( My landlord and I worked together on the bed/bath issue. We checked out both beds, the only one with the prob was the master bed in that empty middle. so he completely filled it with wood and cement blocks, and he put a super duper high power but quiet exhaust fan in the bath (5' away from bed) and its sucks out all in a heartbeat. amazing!! we are also talking going under the house with insulation. and yes. mattress is slowly breaking in. It was hell at first, I cried. but I hung in there, and now slowly starting to love it--I sleep thru the night and thru my husband's showers at 5am --just 5' away!! He hates it, so sleeps in man cave LOL! my issue now is the mattress pad/cover.--I'll post a Q on a thread in appropriate topics. SO.....I guess I'll just have to go thru my neighbors mailboxes and grab the BB&B coupons LOL since I'll be there on and off for a long time no?? :]...See Moreshower curtain liner advice, please
Comments (11)Thanks, my dreamhome! We do get those pink stains on the plastic liners so I'll watch for them on the cloth one. We bought a suspension rod to help us figure out at what height we want to hang the curved rod. I'll keep your comment about length of liner in mind as we figure that out and make sure I have enough inches to spare. I searched in this forum for answers before posting, assuming this was the right place to ask my question. After I posted, I did a Google search and learned that I could have found my answers with a search in the Cleaning Tips forum. I think I'll stick with the cloth liner for our 2nd bath but I'm going to try the tips for machine washing plastic liners for my oldest son's icky plastic shower liner that he brought home from college. Fingers crossed. Thanks, again!...See MoreHookless shower curtain liner mold
Comments (3)I have the same problem. First, to help prevent it I loop the bottom part of the curtain through the hose for the handheld showerhead for a while to let it dry a bit. Then I pull it down and let it hang outside the tub. Helps a lot. When it eventually gets a bit moldy I soak the bottom in bleach. Tried Oxyclean and other things but only bleach worked. Then I rinse it and wash it in the machine with the bath rugs. Comes out very clean. I just use a white hookless curtain made of polyester - I don't use a second curtain. Found that I had more mold with the second layer of curtain and my bathroom is not that fancy....See MoreTerri_PacNW
