Nothing fantastic, that's for sure, but it was good to me and filling. I had a cup of lima beans, along with a potato topped with melted shredded cheddar cheese. Not much mess made so dish washing was quick.

Hubby wanted sloppy joes so we had a mess of that, and I sauteed the last remaining head of cauliflower. I bought them 3 for $5, so caul, has been our main veggie this week. LOL

We had ham steak, fries, corn and applesauce. We have our two grandsons for the afternoon and evening. Lots of fun. They are giving me a 15 minute rest period.

After over eating this past week while on our road trip, tonight we had just veggies. We do this now and again when we want to eat light.
Tonight was a baked yam, asparagus and cauliflower.

Pizza...yummm! We went to our favorite pizza place called Partner's Pizza and we have enough left for another meal for either tomorrow or Saturday.

Cheeseburgers and a green salad.

Well the first plan was eye of round rare..
Not thawed all the way..
So next plan was burgers...but it is Thursday, so should be breakfast.

I have homemade buns rising..but in the comments someone mentioned they were good for burgers, but even better for breakfast sandwiches..hmmm

I think that's it.. Lol..

After I made the bun dough, I made a double batch of cinnamon dough for cinnamon swirl loaves.

Lima beans are something Robert and I both love and they often end up as an ingredient in my mixed grains and rice dishes. Love them, too, with smoked sausage.

Sloppy Joes are kind of a treat around here....I don't make them nearly often enough. So tasty, aren't they?

That bun recipe rocks.

I halved the recipe. Used 2t yeast. I got 7 2.8 oz buns and a 1 bite baby.

Angelaid, Robert has already asked for pancakes soon. Breakfast for supper sounds perfect for Friday. And your swiss steak has made my mouth water. What do you toss into the slow cooker?

Marigene.....cheeseburgers are often on our menu, I like mushroom & swiss, or blue cheese, or smothered with onions, or topped with lettuce, tomato, and onion.

Terri, thanks for the recipe for the buns. I make buns out of my bread recipe; just use one loaf for bread and turn the other into buns.

I'll be trying these to see what they're like!

Okay, what do you put in breakfast sandwiches? Egg and ham, like an egg mcmuffin?

I just cut some round steak into serving size pieces, shake in seasoned flour, pound the daylights out of them with a meat tenderizer, sear on both sides and throw them in the crock pot with onions, garlic, tomato sauce, water and a package of McCormick's Swiss Steak seasoning.

I hope these are good. I don't care for round steak. No matter what I do to it, the meat just seems tough and dry to me. Even if it's fork tender and been simmered in sauce all day. I don't know how to explain it. May be a texture thing. I feel the same way about "fresh ham" - no matter what I do to the darn things, they are just dry and flavorless (to me).

Angelaid, the round steak comes from the largest and hardest working muscle on beef, I am like you, it reminds me of shoe leather.
