I must have missed your post about it -- I guess you got a new TV??

It's such a good feeling to finally get rid of something that you no longer want, isn't it?

I've had a flat screen tv in my living room over the mantle, for years, and the old console was just in the back room catching dust.

I'm just relieved to get it out and maybe put to use somewhere else.

Plus got rid of things that possibly others could use, as well.

Guess you'd call it "my" spring cleaning.

Anyone done yours yet?

Glenda - have you seen some of the clever things they make with the old cabinets from these TV's!

I have seen lots of "kids kitchens" made from them.

I linked to a Pinterest page that shows re purposing of old cabinets. So clever!!'

Wouldn't some little one be so happy to play with it. I wasn't clever enough to think of this when I had little ones... LOL!

Once when my son was taking an art class in college, he made an aquarium out of an old tv console.

Took out the tv tube and put a real aquarium in.

Great timing Glenda! what you going to use that space for now?

Glenda, my husband did the same thing with our old console years ago. I took care of my grandkids when they were small and we set up the aquarium with a Little Mermaid theme. They would sit and watch the fish instead of the television. We still have it and love it.

The aquariums sound really cool! We recently had Habitat For Humanity pick up our leather couch, The were quick, very polite, have me a receipt, and haven't badgered me with calls for more stuff. I will call them again when I have stuff.

And it feels so good to get rid of things that just took up space. I had lots and it was amazing, didn't seem to put a dent in my closets, etc :o( Hanging onto things just for the sake of "maybe" I'll use it "some time or other".

I'm going to have some pieces of furniture to get rid of soon. Some is good enough to donate and have a happy second life. Some will be put on the curb, from where it will disappear in hours. :-)

I still have mine yet. I have had it for about 30 years. And I still use it in my computer room, I just can't part with it yet, mine was a 27 in color zenith stereo and only was fixed once. Still plays and sounds good.

lol..we still have 3 old TV's and watching one right now...one itty bitty in the kitchen, one in here, and the old "biggie', upstairs...the one in here is used often so have a box on it...one of these days might go flat...if target has a clearance, and I can use my 5% card, too...lol
