Apple TV Fun

Some friends gave me an Apple TV for Christmas and I have to say it is fast becoming one of my favorite toys. I'm more of a reader than a television watcher, but I like to watch an hour or so at night before bed, but I'm super picky about the kind of show I want to watch.

With Apple TV, I've been exploring all of the shows and movies available to me through Amazon Prime. There are many of the BBC series that posters here have mentioned liking and there are older series from broadcast television. I found one yesterday that I quite liked called, The Guardian. It stars Simon Baker from The Mentalist. I only watched the pilot, but it has three seasons available, enough to last me for a few months.

I knew about access to streaming shows through Amazon Prime, but I would have had to watch on my computer or iPad which I probably would never do. It's so much more comfortable to watch on my television.

There are many worthwhile sources for streaming content over the internet and many devices that can be used. Some use these cheaper avenues in place of hefty cable or other TV programming packages.

If you don't already have the capability, note that many TVs and Blu-Ray/'DVD players have built-in apps to access the various sites like Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc.

For those in more rural or remote areas with internet access via satellite or cell phone systems, your bandwidth limitations may make internet video streaming not feasible.

Yep... and that sucks.... :(

I always want to stomp my feet and throw a tantrum when I hear people rave about Netflix, Amazon Prime, etc...

LOL! Oh well...

Actually, if the old user has 2 factor authentication enabled on the apple account used on that device, you'll have to work with them to unlock it and then perform a factory reset so that you can configure it for yourself. The original owner should have done this for you before giving it away.

I loved the Guardian series and that is where I discovered Simon Baker. Don't think the Mentalist is as good, but I do watch sometimes. Enjoy that TV. My DS is trying to convince me that "that" is the way to go. DH just likes surfing, I believe... and watches endings and beginnings forever.
