I spent a good deal of time yesterday reading over the comments from the local online paper. It was revealing, to hear from locals who know more about the culture of their police dept. and know individuals involved. It is rumored that the dogs may have been behind a gate and/or in a kennel in the kitchen. I tried very hard to see the dogs in the video and it did not appear that they were at the door when they broke in. I think that the situation could have been avoided and it should have been executed very differently. I was discussing this with DH and it occurred to me that there could have easily been a human (even the child for that matter) alseep on the couch with one of those dogs, and the police did appear to come in with guns blazing. I think it's very interesting to read the points of view of the local people have posted. I hope that those responsible are held legally accountable.

Thanks summer..I hadn't seen Jojo. Yes, that is amazing. Dog indeed is the "god of frolic". We humans haven't begun to tap all the resourses in a dog. Wouldn't surprise me if one day they rule the world!

Ahhaaahaaahaaa! That IS a good one! I never thought to listen to the others, the "I Spy Game" is good too. But the one with the beaver in the middle of the road makes me nervous, those cars come way too close sometimes. I wonder if those people were able to help it off the road?

Hi Lucille, what a friendly comment! The first post asked for opinions, so I offered mine. As I said, wishing won't make anything change. It's sad when people and animals die and are no longer in our lives, it's something we all need to deal with from time to time. Peering around corners and looking for apparitions is a red flag, it isn't a sign of successfully dealing with a death as far as I'm concerned, but if that suits you, fine. You're welcome to your opinion too, whatever it is.
