I'm not sure why, but I couldn't watch last night. that story line has really bothered me for some reason.

I saw one little snippet where the little girl and Olivia were tied up and he was about to rape her.

What happened? Did Olivia get saved or did the lunatic end up victorious? And how did the girl get involved anyway?

It ended as it should have with him and a bullet to the head. The only problem being Liv's fingerprints are on the gun and of course they will go after her but that's another story line.

I'm way over here in Oz, where my problem would be the opposite, ie plants probably frying in a summer move. but since no-one has rushed in to help, I thought I'd write. First off, is your new home still within the Illinois state boundaries ? , as there may be transport issues across borders. 2nd I guess, is how long is the trip likely to take in hours, and can the transport company guarantee a straight trip without lengthy stop-overs? 3rd given that plants are "perishable" in these conditions, they really should be last things on the truck and first things off. But, without sitting around somewhere while the packers do other things. Are you expecting to be there at departure and getting ahead of the truck to be there at the other end when they arrive? 4- have the removalists any prior experience with moving live plants? Over here there are a very few specialist plant transport companies, but it's certainly not cheap - and in your case you have the temperature issues. 5- I guess you can prepare a bit, and that will depend on the size of the plants etc. like packing tops of pots with stuff to keep the soil in if they tip over, or preferably putting pots into boxes to make them easier to move, and wrapping trunks and leaves to minimise damage. The pots themselves would need to go into plastic bags to stop moisture leaking out and weakening the boxes. 6 - all this preparation, takes up space, and space with removalists is definitely money. I guess you need to consider whether in fact it is economical to move the plants at all, or whether you have other options like selling them and buying/propagating new ones at your new home. (I know, that's probably not what you want to hear). 7 You might well fit a few plants into your SUV, even large ones if prepared well and placed on their sides, but you can't build them up to such a height that they impede your vision when you are driving, and as you say it's a long return trip just for plants. 8. So I guess I'd start making a list of absolute must-haves, and others. Work out a square foot area of the must-haves based on truck floor area and see whether it's economical to take them. Save boxes. bags, and newspaper and whatever wrap you can find. Things like old sheeting may protect a bit from the cold during the move. Get a proper reception area ready for the plants at the arrival point so they don't sit outdoors freezing. 9. Utilize your friends and plant people to "mind" stuff that you can't fit in, in case you can come back for more SUV trips, or if other people are travelling in your new direction and can afford the space to take a few plants to you. 10. Not being really used to the cold that you probably experience, but I wonder if there are products that you can spray on the plants that minimise the impact of the cold, and consider individual plant needs as to whether it is safe to trim things back a bit over the move without setting them back too far. wishing you a happy move, and not too much stress!

Brother's & Sisters, The Mentalist, L&O SVU (sometimes), Medium. We really like Crusoe, but I wouldn't be surprised if that show gets dropped before its finished. Most of the crime dramas I've become really bored with. They are really all the same to me. There are way too many shows to keep up with. I don't really watch much TV these days unless my Sharks are playing.

I can separate my fiction shows from the real thing, so I watch them both(Criminal Minds and SVU). It's upsetting to watch but I can admire the wonderful acting. However, the real life stories have me in tears. The one where the NRA cretin shot an elephant in the face, and drank champagne while it moaned and cried and died made ME cry. And it was shown on TV...NBC sports cable show.

I have seriously been considering canceling TV. There is so much stupidity in most of the comedies, and watching those shows one time is all I need to not watch it again. I'm so tired of seeing bare flesh, mostly on women, leaving very little to the imagination. And sex is everywhere. Foul language isn't even beeped out any more. I watch Desperate Housewives, and now I believe it is the writers who are desperate. I watch The Apprentice, and this season is a sorry lot of contestants. I like the legal shows, but only if they are real cases. "Breaking News" is repeated day after day. Why? We heard it the first time. The shows that I have watched the most are some old movies, Pickers, Pawn Stars, Little People and The Little Couple and GASP! I watch the Duggars. I do like the house hunting shows, but there again...Property VIRGINS. Sex is everywhere, like I said. If what we are seeing on TV is what is "normal" in most families, we are much worse of than I ever thought was possible. Yes, I am prudish; look it up. I was taught morals, dignity, good manners. Those traits are fast disappearing judging by what we see on TV. I don't like to hear things like "Things are different now." I had to fast-forward through parts of it, I must be getting more squeamish.
The guy broke into their house, raped and tortured the older sister and said if Olivia didn't come to him, he would kill the younger sister.
CSI I just completely skipped, about cannibalism. Yuck. Gave up Criminal Minds.
Was excited when Kevin Bacon got a series, until I read what it was about. Ugh again.
What's up with all the horrible gore and violence?

The little girl was one of two daughters of a woman doctor who treated him when he was (I think) transferred from the prison to the hospital. He killed the doctor in her home, raped and tortured her teenage daughter, and kidnapped the younger one.

I didn't think I was going to watch these episodes either. I saw the original one, where he kidnapped Olivia, and felt that was more than enough for me. But it came on after Jeopardy, and I left it on while I listened and engaged in various tasks. Finally I sat down to watch the last half-hour of the second episode.

There's a big gap in my watching this series (I was sorry when Elliot left, and kind of lost interest), so I don't know anything about Olivia's boyfriend. But they don't seem very connected.

I did watch CSI because it isn't as heavy as Criminal Minds and so I wasn't all that worried about the cannibalism story line. It wasn't that bad actually.

Criminal Minds wasn't as bad as usual either.

I used to really like SVU but my mind can only take so much depraved story lines and between the three shows SVU lost.

it was so disturbing I didn't watch the last installment...between the horrid storylines and crazy new series, I'd rather watch the pickers, or diy! even greys anatomy was so sad and crazy, 2 weeks ago....

I'm glad to find out that I am not the only one who can't take these shows. I gave up on Criminal Minds a long time ago because I couldn't take the gore. I think the last show that I watched showed someone whose hand was going through a meat grinder. I didn't watch CSI last night because of the previews. I mostly watch the reruns of Criminal Intent. My children use to call Vincent DiNofrio my boyfriend. I just liked his acting. I guess I have so much going on in my life that I just can't take the madness that they are sharing with us.What happened to family friendly television?

Thanks for the update. I too cannot take the gore. There is enough real life crazy stuff to hear about. But, I keep recording them......

Why in God's name do we have television shows like this? Who puts this on in the name of entertainment? I can not wrap my brain around this.... And they call this entertainment?? What the *ell.

Call me whatever you want to, you are fricking nuts to watch a show like this. If we told the networks that we refuse to watch their crap, do you think they would quit putting this over the airways?

There are so many "groups" that abhor this type of TV. Iy is time we stood up and said enough is enough.

I am tired of all of the crime shows having the cops end up victims BLAH!! Criminal Minds is almost too much for me, I read 'true crime' books all the time, so am not scared. But that show has really creepy stuff on it.

Also makes me nuts when they solve a case in 24 hours.

Sid - that is exactly how I feel about "reality" tv. Enough already about "real" wives of anywhere or snotty, spoiled teenagers or hillbilly little girls. That is what I can't wrap my brain around. I guess there would would nothing left ot watch if cut out all the crappy shows! LOL....could be a very good thing!!

I read books with similar plots all the time (In Death series) and don't really see a difference. I don't think there is anything wrong with people enjoying shows like this - it doesn't mean you necessarily like the subject matter. Life isn't sunshine and puppies.

I am thankful that there are a variety of shows on tv and that groups of people can't change what millions obviously enjoy. Beyond protecting children from content that they aren't old enough for, I think it's ridiculous to try to shield consenting adults from enjoying programs. People are
free to watch crime dramas, reality tv, DIY stuff or no tv at all.

Though I wish I could get Rush Limbaugh off the (radio) air! He is a million times worse and offensive to me than any of these tv shows because it's not fiction.

I agree with you, Chi83--especially about Rush Limbaugh. But I would never tell anyone they were "fricking nuts" to listen to him. That would be fricking rude.

well sidnee - since you call the people who watch those shows 'fricking nuts' (such an elegant description) - you now have me wondering what entertainment you watch.

Some of the shows mentioned above are very popular and the networks will continue to air them as long as they have an audience and advertisers.
