I bought irises at the grocery store - the only sign of spring here.

We have 6" of snow & are in the middle of a snow storm this morning.....this is an old photo of my garden and a wrought iron gate DH & I made.....

Nicole, thanks for the filling us in on the photo. What a drag you missed the majority of the cranes. Would love to go to the crane festival some year. Wouldn't even mind seeing the alligator farm. Love animals of all types. well, except mosquitoes and ticks. :-) The elementary school at the end of our street "seeded" their playground just for the flocks of Canada Geese that fly through here. :-) It's an awesome site though to see bunches of geese populating the school's field and spilling out onto the sidewalk and street in the middle of a residential area. Some of the males stand in the middle of the street with their lady and try to stop cars from passing by holding out their wings. I don't know of any that have been hit, it's a street feeding three cul-de-sacs so not much traffic. But I have gotten out of my car to move the geese on so others could pass. Have had 7 straight days of perfect weather to be out in the yard watching DH doing spring maintenance so it has been 11 days since I had a finished puzzle to post. This one was more difficult than most that I have done lately.

The old ones are the best. There are a few "old" lilacs in my neighborhood and they are wonderful to walk past. I have a "new" lilac and it has produced flowers only once......and they had no smell. :(

Beautiful! We're in our 4th straight day where it's going above freezing! YAY!!! It's finally melting!!! Decided to go for a walk yesterday and was AMAZED to see that there were crocuses already blooming beneath the melting snow. Guess that's why they're called snow crocuses. ;p

Neat puzzle kittywhiskers. I haven't done one like that.... yet.

An Iris bed in the south yard. It came with the lot, planted there more than 50 years ago.

Neat puzzle, Kitty!! It looks normal at every angle.
Have you done the ones that are 2-sided, with the picture on both sides of the puzzle piece?? Those were my favourite.

Jasdip, I don't know about kittywhiskers, but I absolutely, positively, beyond any shadow of a doubt refuse to do one of those two sided puzzles. It had to be a sadist that came up with that idea!

My favourite was of an astronaut that was also a Photomosaic. The whole thing was made up of small pictures that made a large picture of an astronaut. 1,000 pieces.

The absolute worst one that I had was of goldfish, on a blue background and there were NO edges. Had no idea how to begin the darn thing, and I gave it away.

jasdip I have never done a 2 sided puzzles and like gazania I don't think I want to either.
Shelgal some of the puzzles I bought at Wal-Mart. Others I have got as gifts or found at garage sales or rummage sales.
I can't believe the price of puzzles now. I can remember buying them for under a dollar as a child.
