Kendall is just like her Mommy was at this age. Mommy had curls everywhere and talked a mile a minute, too. When my hubby would take her in the truck with him he always came home shaking his head. She would talk to whole time he was driving.. Of course, he always had a smile on his face, too. Such great memories.

It's a good thing you know what you're doing, as in, not needing good quilting instructions. It's really cute. I love how you incorporate homespuns/plaids into quilts. You made one with appliqued stars a few years ago that I really liked. When I made it, I'm calling mine Primitive Stars. Blocks were made a long time ago and there they sit. lol But, I still love it. :-)

bpath, My GD plays with that doll and all her other ”stuffdies” all the time. I have had to repair several of her stuffed animal but not the Avery Lamb. It is in perfect condition. I’m pretty sure that the little pocket on the lamb is closed at the top. I won’t be able to check on that until after next week. My GD is definitely a cutie and she is precocious for sure. (Not that I am bragging 😊). I wish I could show her face but her Mom and Dad would not want that. I took up cake decorating 10 years ago when my first GD was born. I haven't taken any classes but as we all know the internet is full of instructions and ideas. I have started teaching my GD how to frost and do various piping techniques. They love making cakes for their mom and dad’s birthdays and other occassions. Maybe I should start a thread on homemade decorated cakes. ETA. I just noticed that I had commented 4 years ago on pocket on the Avery Lamb Doll. It is not open at the top.

Rose, your dolls really hit home with me. My daughter was of that age when the CP dolls became popular and I made her some from a pattern. I thought that they were cute and they looked pretty much just like yours. But, it wasnt just dolls that he kids wanted. They only wanted those dolls that were Cabbage dolls. Daughter was not enchanted. So, the dolls just lived in a box somewhere for years. When I began to declutter and address things that were stored, I took them out and dressed them in some clothing and baby shoes left from my now full grown, and aging, kids. They sat there together on the couch with their arms aroudn one another for a long time. No one used the couch anyway. I tried to find new homes for them, but no one wanted to adopt them. So, I put them outside in the swing on the front porch where they are happily rotting away in a display of mouldy and deteriorating kids toys that has become something of an art piece for me. I am not even going to try to explain. It is a very private inspiration and meant for only me . But your dolls look so much like the ones that I made. The pattern was Simplicity, I think. It made up well. Have your ever heard of the Sew Sweet doll patterns? I discovered them a long time ago and they are the absolutely sweetest littel dolls, ever. I think that they may still have a Facebook page. I bought a Wellie Wisher doll from American Girl for my grand daughter a couple of years ago, and sewed a full wardrobe for her and made her lots of littel shoes. Then I got a couple of cases from Ikea and made a "closet" inside with drawers and hangers. I made little hangers and hung up all the dresses and a little shoebag with the shoes. It is one thing that she has retained an interest in. I have to say , though, this little doll is so hard to sew for because the clothes are so darned little! Your two girls there look so much like the ones I made so long ago.
