I am green....**GREEN** with envy. Someone had better take good pictures...meanwhile I suppose we'll all live vicariously through you lucky folk....I'm starting a collection already for singapore WOC 2011. >.

No....colonial Williamsburg is an area of some 300 acres and I think about 80 original 18th century buildings. The governor's palace is original the College of William and Mary is original and dating to the late 17th century as well as many other buildings. Some have had more extensive restoration than others, but Williamsburg is not a reproduction, it's history and really where it all happened. Sure there are "faux old" buildings built on site for shops and such....but there are lots of old houses that are part of the restoration and tucked in among the "open to the public" houses, there are people living in lovely antique homes, without any evidence of modern conveniences. It's really a beautiful place....lovingly maintained and restored. And, where restorations have been made, they tell you about it and for example about the porch that was there in the late 19th century that was not original and so removed....etc. Not to be missed for antique and history lovers. I've been reading self-help, cleaning and organizing blogs and magazines for years. One thought that stood out "You can't organize clutter." The only way to deal with clutter is put things away where they belong and toss as much as possible on a regular basis.

You know you're a quilter when... ...the most important piece of mail in the mailbox is the latest issue of your favorite quilt magazine. ...you sometimes find little bits of fabric in your pockets and purse. "Oh, that's right. I wanted to find something that goes with this." ...you try to find ways to be super efficient with the chores, so that you'll have more time to sew. Or else you just neglect the chores until after you finish your latest quilt. ...your husband wants to wear his worn out clothes in the garage, and you think it's a shame to get grease on such nice fabric. (Besides, it would look so nice in the quilt you've been planning lately.) ...your hubby knows what you are talking about when you use terms like "four patch," "bear's paw," and "churn dash." ...you wish your family and friends would catch on to the fact that you'd rather have more quilting fabric than just about any other gift they think you need. (Who wants a T-shirt from Paris? How about some good, old-fashioned American calico?) ...you find that planning your next quilt as your fall asleep will practically guarantee sweet dreams.
