Do you watch Celtic Thunder?

I looked back but didn't see a post pertaining to this. If I missed one please overlook this. I really enjoy their shows on the PBS channel. But I just discovered that George Donaldson died of a massive heart attack at his home in Scotland on March 12. Before I learned his name I always refered to him as the older man- he was only 46! The group was getting ready to go to Australia- I'm so glad it didn't happen there or on the plane. Can't imagine how the group is feeling.

I love Celtic Thunder and George was a fantastic singer. I did see that he had died. He will be missed.

Yes, I watch their shows and even have one of their CD's. Love their songs and singing, and a couple are pretty cute too! (I like the blond one with the bad haircut.)

So very sorry to hear about George. He was the big guy, right? Wow, they must all be in shock. I'm going to do a search and read about it. Yes, he was pretty young but had a wonderful experience singing with the group.

I thought about you all last night. And Helen, I was up about the same time you were. The TV weather picture was a sea of red and boy, was there water coming down! I had just shy of 3 inches in the rain gauge. My car trunk in the garage is covered with plants ready to go out, and I had even planted a darling little Supersweet 100 tomato a couple days ago. I knew better-- She got covered with some loose straw and a pot over her this evening. Surely our drought has been broken. I wondered this AM if I should be boiling water, as the last time we had that much water, it was after the tornado. But I thought maybe Folger's would take care of everything, and apparently there wasn't an order out after all. Not one tulip bloom was shattered, nor were any dogwood blooms knocked off, so all we had was rain. The thunder and lightning was terrible, though. "Our" storm pushed off east and made some big trouble today. So sorry. And I'm real sorry I didn't mow earlier! Sunny

This is another one I was SURE I had posted too! Anyway, I remember what I wanted to say: Love the bracelet and would wear it myself! I especially love the covered crock and need to get myself some covered bowls like that. I'm always improving stupid lids for the bowls I have to keep things warm - that lid is just gorgeous! I also love the card, and I collect native Canadian art and have some that is somewhat similar in style to that. It looks like you could frame it. The cookbook will be great also - although I know the author only by reputation. It's hard to go wrong with Italian cuisine. Lars

I did check the newsletter we get from them, and didn't see Thunder listed, just the Celtic Women. We used to get two PBS channels here, but we don't get one of them anymore. Probably that is the station Thunder will be aired. Oh well now when I get my DVD, I can watch with out the pledge drive interruptions. Dottie

LOL Dottie I too enjoyed his eyebrow thing during A Place In The Choir. That song was a pleasant addition. Everyone just let go and had a good time with it. And hearing Damian singing bass was a bit more of a surprise. Did anyone else find it ironic for them to have Damian singing Happy Birthday Sweet 16 in the prior show? Somehow hearing him singing you've grown up before my very eyes, well, look up ironic in the dictionary! I just wish they'd do more songs on these show. But, leave 'em wanting more I guess. And yes, seeing Neil get more airtime is good. I hope he doesn't get bumped out with Emmett coming in. The guy is really talented. I like Paul Byrom's personality, and his voice for certain songs, but I like Neil as a better tenor overall. I haven't heard Emmett yet. Be interesting to see what they do with the group. I don't like to see Paul leave. I don't think it's a good move on his part but there might be something in the background prompting it too, who knows. Interesting show and an interesting group. So little on TV that's worthwhile watch AFAIC, it's nice to get a few shows like this.

I'm a big Celtic Thunder fan and was so very sorry to read that he had died. He was a big part of the group as the younger ones seem to go in and out on a regular basis and had been with them since the beginning. He will be sorely missed.

I just saw a few days ago the news about Georges death. Such sad news! I am a huge fan of celtic thunder. I have every CD. George will be so missed. I don't think the group will be the same. Such a sweet man. I read that he was a big kid at heart. I had tickets to the Hershey Park show 2 years ago, then broke my ankle and couldnt go. God bless his wife and daughter who he loved so dearly. He talked all the time about his beloved 'daughter'
