I just got a new MAJOR virus. I think it was from opening a bad email. If it has no subjuct line watch out. I got 2 of those just the other day an now.... no PC! Thank God I have the KT Gathring Place, or All would be gone. I hope my back up works. I am having to use DH's laptop... which I hate! I am going to look for a pc tomorrow. Boy do I hate this, so much work to do now. :^(

so know what you mean..although we did go out and get a new one, gave the old one to sil and he fixed it for the grands...

Well, it has been a tough month for me and my family. We would have celebrated Wayne's 68th birthday today. It has been quiet around here even with the shelties. All our kids are out of town or out of province and although I talk with them regularly, it is just not the same in this old house. I miss Wayne so much and still doesn't seem real at times. As you have expressed Terry, there is a large void where his large presense was and the absense of his voice is deafening. Even though I go through the motions of life every day, it still feels like I just want time to stand still! I am so grateful that I have such supportive people around me and my fellow garden webbers to communicate with. I look forward to the spring and I look forward to ending this chapter in this old house. In the meantime, I am keeping myself busy with my sewing and clearing out what is no longer needed here. Peggy,I have been unable to see the garden for a couple of weeks now thanks to all the white stuff we got but I have named my new peonies after each and every one of you on this forum. Guys are red and white ones! Ladies are pink! :) I have stored them in the garage in peat moss and sand. Hopefully everyone will survive the winter. Lynn, the dogs are definately keeping me busy and I have to do poop patrol now. :$ Good grief! Ingrid, I am planning on a trip out to see you when ever you are ready for company providing the roads are clear. I look forward to getting out in the country! Cindy, I'm so happy to have met you but sad for the circumstances. Thank you so very much for the casseroles. You are a great cook! It is true that there isn't much coral snake antivenin left, but I wouldn't worry too much because it is extremely difficult to get bit by a coral snake unless you handle one with your bare hands. Coral snakes are very overrated snakes and are actually far less dangerous than rattlesnakes. They do have more venom potency drop for drop, but far less venom yield (the amount of venom) and they have a very ineffective venom delivery system. Whereas rattlesnakes can strike and inject venom with their needle like fangs, coral snakes grab a fold of skin on a finger or toe and chew. The very few people bitten are usually snake nuts who play with coral snakes (some snake keepers own them as pets and get too comfortable handling them, usually without incident, but it only takes one incident to become a bite statistic) and children who pick up and play with coral snakes. The snake is so mild mannered that some children have brought coral snakes to show their parents (to their parents horror I am sure) and still not been bitten. Similarly a lot of snake nuts handle them without incident. I wouldn't recommend it, but they assess their risk as low and do it anyway (and only very rarely pay for their foolishness). Coral snakes can actually be quite common, but rarely seen because of their mostly underground and fossorial and secretive habits, in urban areas. They actually co-exist pretty well with people and while potentially dangerous if handled (young children need to know not to pick them up), are far less dangerous than their reputation. In the grand scheme of things coral snakes have the potential to be very harmful but they need a lot of help from humans willing to offer up appendages, to make up for their poor venom delivery mechanism and their mild disposition.

boxerpups - such a sad situation for that young girl - and surely her sister too. it does sound like she is acting out and I do agree that you should contact the teacher. maybe someone can intervene with her. life is tuff enough for young people today and that girl has more than any one young person should have working against her. i don't think i'd go the court route (don't think you will either). in the end it could cause more trouble for your dd and your family than it's worth. i'm not saying the young girl isn't worth it or that we don't have the right to be upset when someone damages our property. but in the end, a fridge is a fridge and hopefully will be fixed w/o much expense. OTOH, I do think the young girl needs confronted about it. for her good! and i think it is something you could handle. holding someone to account is not mean, it is the more loving thing to do for them. short term upset for long term gain. it might not show in her in the near future, but it will be going around in her head that someone was more concerned about her future than a material thing. it sounds like she has been raised to think that things are more important than she is. until you decide how to fix the fridge door, i think i'd use it as a prayer reminder for that young girl. and a thank you for the blessings you and your family have in each other. and as for getting a new puppy after the loss of another very loved furbaby, my belief is that the best way to honor my precious gone to heaven furbaby is to find another furbaby in need of a loving home and lots of spoiling! i think that makes them very happy!

Why go get a new one if you just have an infection? I can help you get to the help forum where we can help you clean it. If you don't want to do that all you have to do is have the pc reformatted, does not take much
time or effort to do that and you are back to exactly how it was when you bought it.
Really no need to buy a new one unless you just want one.
Have you already tried running malwarebytes free scan? If not go ahead and do that.

We have helped many people from GW, it can be done.

I have Malwarebytes and Spy Doc, which I do run alot. Yes you do have to watch everything now. and that is one reason I hate to open anything that has been forwarded with a ton of names.

It is uncleanable. This is a very bad NEW virus. My PC is fried, it will not allow you to do anything at all.

If nothing else - you could totally reformat your hard drive. All data would be lost.

A virus will not destroy any hardware.

I promise you that it is cleanable if you want to salvage it and your data we can help you do that, it can be cleaned what is happening to you has happened to many people yes it is bad but with the specific scans and s that the team has we can help you out.
I know it appears it will do nothing but it can.

And as I mentioned a simple reformat of the hard drive wipes all of the data including the infection from the hard drive then you start over with a clean hard drive. It is not very expensive to have a reformat and reinstall done if you don't want to do this your self.

I really urge you to let me take you to LzD team and step by step guide you through the process of cleaning it.

Got a new pc today, DS said mine was outdated anyway.
I also found a great deal on a dell mini pc. I also bought one of those rubber keyboards that are waterproof, I can't decide if I like it yet.
I have lots of work ahead of me now.

I had one of those rubber keyboards and gave it away after I used it once, I hated it just did not like how you had to push on the keys and they kind of wobbled inside.

Hope you love the new ones!!

I am here for you if you need help prepping the new computer and de cluttering it of all the junk that comes on them. just don't wait to long to make the disks for it so should you need them for recovery you have them.

My Norton has been doing a credible job of keeping the masties out.

A month ago, my older computer (OS WinXP with service pack 3) begfan to behave like a virus infected machine. I was able to fix it by re-seating the RAM cards (Exercising the connectors to wipe through films. RAM cards run on low voltages. Open circuits can develop at voltages less than 10 volts.). Those cards had been in there long enough (3 years) for corrosion films to affect the connectors and one card was not fully seated (the clue that pointed the way to this particular fix.) It was running IE Explorer 7. My new computer with IE Explorer 9 shows improvement in surfing speed and security. If you are running a version of IE Explorer older than 7, some sites do not work well or not at all.

Joann, please don't even connect to the internet with the new machines until they are set up and protected. That's one of the biggest mistakes people make and causes so much trouble.
