May you eventually find peace, eventually because it does take time. It is a hard process but you will make it. I have been there and I used to wonder how I could make it a week without my mother. She has now been gone almost eight years--I still miss her every day. I am thankful to have had the kind of mother that she was and I hope to see her again someday.

I lost mine 2 years ago, and like you, we were very close, talking a few times daily.

You have my condolences. Your Mom always lives in your memories which you'll always cherish the way she cherished you. It's painful I know but try to honor her life by doing what she would want which is to go on and live life to the fullest. God bless.

You have my condolences and prayers as well. I dread the day.... I hope you will be able to let yourself grieve fully, then find the wherewithal to feel a small sense of normalcy. I remember when my dad died so many years ago, I almost felt dizzy from the realization that though my world had stopped, everyone else in the world was continuing on as if nothing had happened; I hope you have lots and lots of support and will find a grief group if you can--I hear they're most helpful, misery DOES love company.

I also want you to wrap yourself in the grief and the letting go of your Mom. It is only normal and the loss of someone you were so closs to is bound to hurt. In the long run though, your Mom would want you to get on with you life and with respect for her. that is what you should do...move forward. Pick up all those wonderful memories and store them away where you can reach them anything or anywhere you need to and when you are least expecting to or when you need to, you will find a smile on your face and in your heart. May you find peace in your heart in your Mothers passing...

I was pondering along the lines of what alisande said as I scrolled down to this post. Your dear mom was so fortunate and still now fortunate to have such caring children. It's painfully sad and yet wonderful to know she is in your heart and treasured dearly. Have faith that time will fade the ache you feel, I'm sure for quite a while.

I very seldom post...I'm a lurker...I lost my mom on 3-01-05...and still miss her! Think of all the things I wish I could share with her. She would love seeing her great-children grow up and all the funny stories we could laugh about. She was a wonderful woman and role model...I hope to be like her.

Also offer my condolences...you'll surely miss her forever but remember the sweet times you had with her.

How fortunate you are, and thankful you can be, that your family has been so close, for the people in many families have nursed their grievances with the result that get-togethers are only partly pleasant ... and I know that you are not thinking about such things at the moment.

Now you can help your brother find his way through this, and he you. I hope that you can find enough greater pleasure in remembering times with your mother than the pain associated with them that sharing them can help ease the pain for both of you.

Perhaps in the coming days you may find that others have cherished memories of your mother that you've not been aware of, which will help you be more thankful for her life and the influence that she had on others, as well.

One of the most effective ways that we can show our respect and appreciation for the good things that were in the lifestyle of others is to go out and do similar things as we carry on our lives, altered somewhat as indicated to fit into our way of living.

Good thoughts and hopes for both of you, and for others who loved her, as you go along this painful journey, and some prayers offered on your behalf.
