I had to go look up spatchcocked again....couldn't remember what it was. Now that I do, it sounds like a winner to me. As well as the rest of your meal.

Mine was much simpler and not as glamorous, but I liked it. Ham, cabbage and potatoes. Hope I don't get any company for a while..........they would certainly know what I had.

Spitting snow here. I had about a quarter of a ham and cheese sandwich and tossed the rest. Nothing sounds good and I don't feel like cooking.

I have ground turkey in chili flavors on the stove top. It was what was available in the house....I may run to town for a can of beans.. Might just serve it over pasta with lots of cheese.

My oven is cleaning..there's a very strong haze in the house, because I have a cast iron piece in there too..... I just went around and opened windows and doors to get a cross breeze ventilating.

Shirley, my husband is the 'spatchcocker' in the family. He found a tutorial on YouTube a few years ago and from then on that's how we've been preparing whole chicken for the grill.

I don't mind the smell of cooking cabbage and sure as heck like the results. Yum.

Fixer, yours sounds like a different version of gadgets, lol. Pork, cabbage, and potatoes....we've got a theme going. Youve got a sweet tooth tonight....I don't think my teeth could take caramels anymore.

Last day of vacation before heading back north.
We dined at a seafood restaurant on the water. I had king crab legs, mashed potatoes and zucchini and green bean medley. We shared an order of coconut shrimp. DH had a Reuben with sweet potato fries
I had coconut cream pie for dessert and DH had a double chocolate cake which I took a bite of.
The clarified butter that went with my crab was too salty. Isn't clarified butter usually done with unsalted butter? I figured they would not have unsalted butter if this is how they served it. What of you think?

We went to the Houston KT get together at the Lasagna House. Sure did enjoy the visit with the group. We enjoyed a combo meal of Lasagna, ravioli, and linguine, which was very good but I
have enough left over for a couple more meals. We have not had pasta or bread in a long time so we did indulge a little.

Great visiting with good friends, very nice.

Laura! So glad tk see you again...I've been thinking about you. Can't go wrong with salad, as far as I'm concerned. This is asparagus season and I love it, too.

Ellendi, wbat a feast! I've always thought that drawn better had salt but should only be mildly so. Perhaps they salted the butter extra.

Raven, I understand the craving for pasta after being on a low empty carb diet. Just remember, those kinds of carbs are addictive. You may have to do a few zero carb days to get back on track. At least, that's what I would have to do. :-) And I LOVE gooey, cheesy pasta dishes. I've been hungry for stuffed cannelloni for awhile and don't be surprised if you see it on my supper table soon.

I made a refrigerator dump salad. We had house guests last week and I bought way too much lettuce. I think we will be having salad based meals for at least a week. I need to stop by the market tomorrow and get some chicken breasts to grill for one of the nights.

On Saturday we came across 2 gorgeous rib-eye steaks on sale. We never buy them, and this was too good of a deal to pass up.

I pan-fried them, and we had sauteed green beans with balsamic vinegar and roasted sweet and yukon gold potatoes with lots of garlic cloves.

Chicken Parmagne with with what I call "Polish ravioli" (perogie) stuffed with mashed potatoes and cheese, and green beans.

Jasdip, I think it was you who convinced me that white and sweet potatoes are delicious together. Wasn't it? Your dinner sounds great. I use balsamic vinegar more and more in recent months. With green beans, a must.

Monica, I can't remember where I lived that pierogies were regular restaurant and potluck fare. Haven't had any in years! Total comfort food.

Try cutting both potatoes in chunks (unpeeled) and dumped in a casserole dish with lots of cloves of garlic and olive oil, salt and pepper. Bake covered for about 45 minutes, then uncovered for 15.
These are to-die for!

My DH "loves" pizza. Sooooooooo I made my usual pepperoni and sausage, but I used fresh garlic instead of diced in a jar. It made a HUGE difference. He raved about it....still talking about it this morning. :0) A man that loves his pizza.....

Nicole, I don't think garlic in a jar comes even close to fresh. Not by a long shot! It makes a difference in anything you're fixing that calls for garlic. It sure doesn't smell the same when cooking, does it? Isn't it nice that something so simple makes your husband so happy?

Jasdip, I will make those potatoes soon. I love oven roasted potatoes and I love roasted garlic......how could the combination miss?

Susan, I sure nuke left over burgers. They will lose a lot of moisture and fat, so I always put a paper towel under them before the reheat.

Monica, thanks for letting us know where you got your pieroges. It still bothers me that I can't remember where I've had them. Maybe Michigan...I lived there for a few years.
