That's hilarious! Would she be totally embarrassed if she saw that picture? Yikes, what are you going to wear next time?

We do rotate houses. One person is very allergic to cats and takes medication before going to this house. I think we will use that as an excuse not to meet there any more. I really do like the cat. He is an old sweetie. Seventeen and very affectionate. Fortunately the pants can be washed, but I will either have to send the sweater to the cleaners or spend a lot of time with the lint remover!

I have to roll my pants before I head out the door. It's the bottom part of the legs. Smudge sleeps on some storage bins in the closet which puts him next to some clothes. It's a shame to send your sweater to the cleaners! Can you put it in the dryer on "air" with a towel or something?

Meee-YOW! She'd probably be embarrassed to know what happened, or maybe not! You need one of those tape roller things to get all that off.

Those tape roller, including refills, things are rather expensive, aren't they?

How about adorning an old toilet paper roll, or paper towel roll ... with some double-sided tape: somewhat less costly, when one considers the number of times that one could use the tape loaded from a single dispenser?

I use to wrap masking tape around my hand and then pat down my uniform pants and jackets if there were pet hairs, dust bunnies, or unidentified fuzzies on them.

It was the easiest, and cheapest solution. I kept a large roll in my office desk, too.

I washed the pants and hung them to dry. Even after washing, I could see hair on them. Then I took the hung-dry pants and threw them in the dryer for 20 minutes or so and nearly all the hair was gone. I'm not going back to that house again!

I'm afraid you would encounter white cat hair at my house.
Before I leave home I use one of the sticky rollers.They really work and are inexpensive.

Reminds me of the time my team was receiving a special commendation from the Base Commander -- including photo ops. We had to drive over to the bldg where the ceremony was taking place... it was cool, but no coat required since I was wearing a navy blue wool suit. We all rode over to the ceremony in the Division Chief's mini-van. It turns out that he had a dog with long blonde hair who rode in his car with him everywhere, and apparently the dog sat where I sat. :p

Another thing that works well for removing the hair, lightly dampen a regular dish sponge and run it over the hair. It will roll it as you swipe with the sponge. I like the rubbery tacky rollers better than the tape ones that you peel off sheet by sheet.
I dearly miss all of my precious kitties but I don't miss anything about the hair or litter box. I can almost get a sneezy feeling thinking about both of them. I can't be around any litters except the ones made of pine or newspaper pellets. I am really allergic to the other types that are like clay based.

I understand that people love their pets, but wouldn't you think she would put a throw or something on the furniture where people are sitting for that one night & keep the cat in another room? I have the same problem at a neighbor's house with her dogs & never go inside unless I have to......also, her clothes are usually covered in dog hair when I see her out shopping~

You made me remember a time when I went to a performance by the Philadelphia Orchestra, and my friend drove. I was covered with yellow lab hair by the time I got there. All the brushing with my hand would not budge that hair.

This cat is ancient and sheds like crazy (obviously). Yes, I would have thought she would vacuum the furniture before hosting book club.

The hairiest animal I ever owned was a Siberian Husky. You could yank handsful of his undercoat out at a time. I'd take him outside and brush and brush and brush and still barely put a dent in the loose hair. No more pets for me, but not because of the hair. I just don't want the responsibility.

Ditto to Suzieque. No outfit or home is complete without cat or dog hair.

We humans shed too....just check your clothes and your hairbrush or comb.

It's a never endin battle with my 2 fur monsters. I warn people that if they sit on the sofa they will look like that. I clean it but those hairs just stick into the sofa and do't come off except on clothing. Ha ha. Total pain but I love those guys.

Not a pet story but another memory comes to mind. We just got our rattan furniture delivered for a sun room where we used to live. I chose the Haitian cotton because it was on display and I liked it.
We hosted a party and those wearing black left covered in cotton!

I've always had cats so I've learned to put up with their hair. I have a wool Navy Pea coat I wear only for church and funerals. I keep it in a closet far away from my kitties. My MIL hated my cats. Once when she was visiting, I cleaned the house and vacuumed everywhere and opened the windows, then locked the cat in an unused bedroom. Yet somehow MIL found the one kitchen chair that had cat hair and sat her big butt on it, coming away looking like that photo. I was mortified!

My mother-in-law used to say there was animal hair everywhere but inside the eggs.
