Not much to update. The doctor doubled my dose of diuretics. Nobody notified the pharmacy and when I ran out of medicine I had to wait to be able to get it. And to complicate things, the pharmacy was out of that medicine and had it back ordered. All this time I'm collecting water weight. I went back to the doctor on Wednesday. He gave me a booster pill for the water pill I take and said take it for 3 days. Then go back to normal routine. It seems be working.

Hospice had to drop me. I have a PIC line directly into my heart and an IV that feeds the medicine directly. It stimulates the heart to pump harder. It will shorten my life but give me a better quality of life. This medicine loses effectiveness over time and when it stops working I will go back on Hospice.

I get tired easy. I spend most of my days sleeping. I still come over here and visit 2 or 3 times a day.

RE: Poohbear

Pooh, has a heart transplant been ruled out"? Seems like that would solve your problems. I am so sorry to hear about the newest problems, you sure don't need anything further to deal with. Hugs.

So glad you posted again, Poohbear! Remember you often in my prayers.

RE: Poohbear

I'm not eligible for a heart transplant. The doctor said if I survived the surgery, my lifespan wouldn't be significantly improved enough to be approved for the transplant.

In other news, I have now lost all the water weight I gained due to the water pill fiasco.

Pooh... sorry to read about your latest set back. A friend of mine once had me pray to St. Anthony and that prayer was answered. I hope maybe he will find a way to answer one more.
Keep your chin up.

I think about you too, Pooh, and am glad you lost your latest water gain. This is a very nice place to visit when you can't be up and around, isn't it?

This is my home away from home. I can come here and post anything. I didn't post any of this news on Facebook because I just couldn't think of the words to say.
I rarely post anything on FB.

RE: Poohbear

It's so good that you have this "safe harbor" to let off steam and so many people who REALLY care for you and want only the best for you. I hope you have a spiritual side you can tap in to while going on this journey and I also hope there are times when you can enjoy (not a good word right now) whatever brings you some level of contentment. It must be so hard to accept and still appear normal as this is not a "normal" situation. Having been though a tough similar situation, I know how hard it is not to be angry, I sure was. Eventually I surrendered and then it got a bit easier. I was only 12 when diagnosed with a fatal illness and laid in bed for two years while clueless drs. on rounds would discuss me like I was a lab specimen until one day I screamed "STOP IT" They all started at me and the head dr. asked what was wrong and I told him. They never did it again. I was fortunate to be allowed to be in on a study of a new drug and I was the lucky one it worked on and here I am. I'm not saying this to give you any false hope but to let you know that expressing your feelings is very liberating and allows you to feel some control. My prayers for you are that you can glean some moments to release your body and tap in to your spiritual side which will give you comfort. I care.
