You can now run ubuntu right in windows with the use of wubi so you can run it as if it were a program in windows. However the particular distro you are asking me about in that link is NOT ubuntu per say, it is a distro that someone has created using ubunutu core, they have altered it to their linking and added some additional programs and removed some of the original ones. I know nothing of that particular distro at all never even heard of it so not sure how long lived it will be and be supported. Now to the real ubuntu it is widely used and many like it. I have used it in the past it is not my fave distro of linux. I personally use Mepis Linux to me it is one of the easiest to get set up and running and for people used to windows since it uses the KDE desktop manager rather than Gnome like ubuntu, however you can get Kubuntu which is ubuntu using the KDE desktop instead of the Gnome. I know that is sounding like a bunch of strange talk but it does make a difference. If you wanted to try ubuntu I would highly suggest this book it is the one that got me started and it is an excellent resource especially for ubuntu. Ubuntu for Non-Geeks I think his latest edition is 4, you would definitely want which ever is the latest one. I picked mine up at Barnes and Noble locally. The thing with ubuntu is they update the versions frequently so it is likely that what ever the book is for will not be the latest version of ubuntu. To understand that you can look at this wiki to see the various versions of ubuntu List of Ubuntu releases What I personally would suggest is that you get yourself a linux live cd what ever you prefer in distro, and simply just put in the cd and boot your pc from that cd and it will allow you to run linux strictly from that cd and never touch your windows at all, that way you can test drive it and see what you think then when you are wanting to go back to windows just remove the cd and reboot the pc back as normal to windows. That is the preferred way to do any banking these days because what ever you do while using the live cd is not saved to the hard drive and is much like working in a safe box. One thing your husband may want to try, this is what I do and like it, I create folders on the bar directly above the tabs which is the bookmarks toolbar, in those folders I put say my daily faves the ones I go to first every day, then all I have to do is right click that folder and hit open all in tabs and voila there they all are. I do a folder for my emails too since I have a few and can open all them at once the same way. I love the bookmarks tool bar, if you choose not to put them in folders you can simply drag any website you are currently on to the bookmarks tool bar by grabbing it's icon in the url bar and just drag it to that toolbar and it will stick, to change the name right click on the icon choose properties and you can make changes. to create the folder on the bar right click a clear space click new folder the box comes up to name it, then to put your faves in there just go to the website and drag it in or right click on the folder and select add bookmark here.

Isn't Raven great - has so many terrific links. I use Picassa and find it so easy to use. After I edit a photo and want to save the changes, go to - File-'Save As' Then save it to a folder in My Pictures. I also use Photobucket and then I upload my pictures to that. One other thing. Make sure on Picassa you use 'Save As'. Don't use 'Save a Copy'. If you use that it saves it with a Picassa extension which you don't want. Save As saves it as a .jpg Jane

sure EmmaR you can use it for what ever you want and on an android tablet you can add multiple types of reader apps so you can read any type of book format you want, including the kindle books using the kindle app. I guess I want a 10" because I don't have one LOL I really like the little bit bigger size I get with my 8" Vizio so if it was light weight enough I think I would like the bigger screen size. Especially with my eyesight. I know it is hard for me to go back to my 7" tablet when I have been using the 8" alot. It is great however that we can adjust the font for our seasoned eyes LOL My husband is always touching the touchscreen when he shouldn't be and then it reacts and he gets all huffy at it LOL he will be sitting there telling it no no no I did not tell you to go to some other page, well yes you did you just stuck your finger on a link!! I have my recliner right beside his and I can not tell you how many times he is shoving it over to me to "fix" it when all he needs to do is hit the go back button. I need more patience Lord please! This is why I got him the readers that do NOT have a touch screen! I offered to upgrade him to my 7" but he said does it have that darn touch screen(yep) so we know the answer to that one! NO. I have no problems what so ever with any of the touch screens. Now going from the resistive to the multi touch is a learning experience. I do always do the calibration settings test as soon as I get any new tablet to get it set to my touch.
