I have one of those old fashioned bamboo back scratchers.
In fact, I bought 3, when I found them. One for me one for Dh and a spare!

I just use my fingers. They can reach anywhere.

I bought a toilet brush (a nice long one) from Dollar Tree. It feels so good to get at those itches.

I have a few different types of those telescoping back scratchers, I got mine at CVS. I had one that was really small and had a clip on it to clip in a pocket, it looked just like an ink pen when clipped on. I had it for years and just last week part of it came apart and I don't think it can be fixed.
But I have others. The others I have are bigger and have a nice thick rubberish grip on the handle and a bit wider scratching head.

I have had one of the bamboo ones for years and years. Used to have one of the plastic ones like Glenda's. It was imprinted with a medical supply company from when I was working in the medical field. It had a shoe horn on the other end. No idea what happened to it, lost in a move I suppose.

I did a google image search for back scratcher and there are some very strange things that come up!

I have one large knitting needle. Lost the other one somewhere. The end is perfect for scratching my back. Keep it in the bedside table. I did have a bamboo back scratcher but it broke and I have not replaced it.

This is funny. Was just getting ready to post how I use knitting needles when Mary posts she does. I use the 14" size. Keep one by my bed, my computer and where I sit in the living room. When I had surgery, I took one with me. The nurses and aides asked why I brought a 'weapon' with me.

I often just use my hair brush, but I also have a long very stiff bristeled brush that has a handle at both ends, much like a jumprope would have. That brush must be a good 3 feet in length.....use it just like taking your bath towel in both hands and rubbing back and forth to dry your back. Oh that stiff brush feels sooooo good.

I shared about using spatulas for spreading ointment on arthritic shoulders I couldn't reach.

Now toilet brushes and spatulas, who would a thought!

Years ago I was in the kitchen and got a strong back itch...I glanced around and ended up grabbing a spaghetti scoop...you know those spoons with the prongs. It worked so well, it's all we use now.......and no, we don't use the same one for both tasks!

I don't think I have any parts that I can't reach.
Lucky to have no shoulder issues.

Sometimes, it's the edge of a door for me, too.
But just the other day, it was a plastic ice scraper. I guess I'd brought it in in advance of the big sleety snowstorm we got in Va.

And I have a nice back scrubber brush in the shower.

Hounds...back scratching just feels so much better with a utensil of some kind, lol! We have bamboo scratchers but I like the idea of having a telescoping verson. Our cat will stand like a statue when he gets scritched......he loves it!

Another vote for a toilet scrubber brush (a clean never used one).

I also use one of these (link below). The contours of this one are just right to get around the shoulder blades. And it is stiff enough to really dig in when I have to scratch hard.

I bought a kids' metal garden rake-its' about 16" long,relatively stiff and does a dandy job in the middle of the back
