The Logy Bay Castle - a rich American built this in a small community overlooking the ocean a couple of years ago. He has relatives in Newfoundland, but he only spends a couple of weeks a year here.

One's trash ... is someone else's treasure. Squirrels don't bother me much, but they can be a nuisance. But coons - they can be real pains in the patoot, at times ... e.g. when they pull down over a hundred ears of sweet corn ... and take about one bite out of each. That I'd figured to take to a couple of churches, social agencies, etc. Almost did, putting on a sign, "Using a sharp knife, cut out the chewed part and a bit extra: the rest, wrapped by the husk, is O.K. - even if you're playing second fiddle to a coon!". ole joyful

My brother was born on St. Patrick's Day and owes his middle name to the day. One year he exclaimed: "No more green cake. I'm sick to death of always having green cake." I have found hundreds (maybe thousands) of four-leaf clovers in my life, at least a hundred 5-leaf clovers, and three 6-leaf clovers. a five-leaf clover For the variety shown in ravencajun's picture, that I've always refered to as a "shamrock" I've only every found two 4-leafed ones.

The new bird house gets set into place, June 1, 2012. Posing with the new birdhouse, the builder far left - who was 84yrs.old at the time and the two guys who hefted and secured it to the pole. Mr. Miller passed away in 2015.

Jasdip, oh my gosh, we had the best time in Buenos Aires. I traveled there with a gal who had already been there four times, so knew her way around. The city is broken up into some pretty distinct areas. I'm happy you are enjoying the street scenes.

The shopping was great. I bought two pairs of boots that I wear all the time plus all kinds of other goodies. Ever seen a Yerba Mate cup? I bought two of those. Mate is the national hot beverage in Argentina and you carry your own personal mate cup wherever you go. You can get just plain hot water on the streets to refresh your mate.

The cups are usually made out of gourds and decorated on the outside with paint, metal, jewels, you name it. The insides are left natural. You use a metal straw with one end that looks like a sieve. It's designed to keep the loose yerba mate leaves in the cup while you drink.

This is a cup that belongs to a gal who had us over for dinner one night. I'll take photos of the cups I bought and post some day.

Jodi...I used to work with a guy that carried one of those litle tiny cups around with the silver straw. lol I'm guessing he put coffee in it. lol

I don't know how anyone can get any satisfaction drinking from such a small cup. I go through a 24 ounce beverage tumbler every two hours. And even then it annoys me to have to get up and refill it. The mate cup is so small it would be gone in three sips. And then there's the taste of Yerba Mate ... ewwww

I want a peacock! (yes, I know what they sound like LOL)
