I heard from Cynic!

Cynic is alive and well and kicking!
He's been busy working on the radio show a doing storm tracking. Lots of that with the winter everyone has had.

As most of us, he's getting older and feeling the cold more, and so is his cat! She's cuddly now, where she wasn't a cuddler much before. LOL. I definitely was concerned about him, and was thrilled that he wrote.

I haven`t heard it since. The mellow tones it made were similar to a middle "C" started note. Kinda sounded like it was played on a flute. Does a mockingbird sing at night? I haven`t heard any do that and we have a bunch here in the neighborhood. After the sun goes down, it gets completely quiet here as far as ANY bird singing, unless it is a hoot owl...and that is rare when I hear them. It was also loud and far off ( 200 yards or so ) I am guessing it must have been a large bird making the sounds. I heard it well from where I was at. I will check out your link about night birds. I really appreciate the help! :) This one has me tweaked. Thank you! :)

It is so unbelievable just how much work there is to do to get the power back. I heard part of an interview yesterday with a bigwig with New Jersey's power company, and another partial interview with a man that was sent to help from another part of the country, I think California. I was in and out of my car, so I only heard snippets. Anyway, the California man was amazed at how wooded the northeast is. The Power Company guy talked about the tens of thousands of trees they have to take down, just to get the ones that are on the lines. Just amazing! My heart goes out to all of you affected by this, and all the men and women working their tails off trying to fix everything. Sally

SHOOT!!! I just saw this.... My internet was out from a week ago Wednesday through last Sunday. Just getting caught up. And to top it off, I might miss the MN meet. Not quite sure yet. Been one of those weeks, has been these last two weeks actually!

So can we put to rest the Snidely/Cynic comparison now? I'm glad to know he is doing fine as well as his furry friend. I think we need him to come back here and start debating again. He was very interesting.
