Welcome, Fiona. So happy to see a new face here. I think we're pretty calm around here. I'm Patti and I live in Ocala, FL. One daughter and one step-daughter. My husband died not long ago and I'm trying to figure out what to do with the rest of my life. I'm due to have surgery for throat cancer soon and I'll be so happy to have that over with and eat regular food again. Now, do tell us all about you!!

And there are many to share your laughter or offer shoulders on which to cry, which seems to be your mode at the moment.

Good wishes to both your daughter and former son-in-law as they get themselves re-established in life. I hope that issues of anger and bitterness may soon work themselves out, especially if there are children still at their home(s).

This warm greeting comes also from southern Ontario, where it's snowy and some blowy, though less than earlier, and not many degrees above 0 F..

They have a rescue boat in Toronto harbour that operates also as an icebreaker, which hadn't operated during the previous two winters ... but this year has been in operation for the past 75 days straight.

Sending a big welcome from East Texas. I'm 71, love dogs and feeding 12 deer twice a day, all the birds and anything else that needs nurturing. Also love having and caring for house plants and outside plants on the patio. Had 4 inside dogs but lost 2 of them 5 days apart in Jan., still grieving. Have one grandson who is in the Navy in San Diego and 3 sons who don't live near us. Husband is 74 and has lots of health problems, but we are doing fine. I rarely post but ready daily and you will love it here!

I will be very careful not to use names, etc. I love Ireland so I picked Fiona. My great-grandparents came from Galway Ireland. Needless to say St Patricks day coming up is a fun day. I cook our favorite Irish foods that day. Anyone else have some Irish in them

Welcome, Fiona from Alabama. I have a tiny bit of Irish in me. My GG Grandmother was from Belfast. My first husband was also from Belfast and my DD is 1/2 Irish. She has aunts, uncles and cousins in Ireland. She and her family went to visit them last October and would like to go again next year. I want to go with them next time.
