2 thumbs up from me on "Quartet"

This is the movie that's Dustin Hoffman's directorial debut and stars Maggie Smith, Pauline Collins (from "Upstairs, Downstairs" and "Shirley Valentine" years ago), Michael Gambon and Billy Connolly.

Saw it today and thought it was terrific. There's some "blue" language, but a lot of laughs.
(If you go, stay for the credits -- nice historical photos of some of the musicians and singers playing roles and their real-life career high points.)

I'll put it on my list of things to do. Thanks for the recommendation. I saw Dustin Hoffman discussing the movie and it looks interesting.

Thanks for the review! Its already on my to do list. I always stay for all the credits, right up to the very end. It just amazes me the number of people it takes to make a film and I also like to see the geographic references to cities and states and countries where they have filmed.
