I like to watch E! network. You're right though. If he's not a star chances are he won't get interviewed. They start broadcasting at 5:30. If he gets interviewed at all his chances are better early on. The big stars don't start arriving until later.

Our movie group is having an Oscar partyâ¦.about 12 ladies. I like the red carpet best. The group will probably watch ABC but I'll be taping E! channel because that's what I like. I hope you get to see your friend. Enjoy.

I love to watch the red carpet arrivals on the E! channel. Even if your friend isn't interviewed, you may see him and his daughter walking around in the "background." And, since he is bringing his 14-year-old daughter as his date, that increases the chances of being interviewed, especially if she is dressed nicely and is wearing something "age appropriate." Remember, it's the E! network that has the Fashion Police show (new shows normally shown on Friday nights, but after an awards show they always have the "red carpet critique" show on Monday night).

Her grandmother accompanied her on the shopping trip to NYC, so I'm guessing the dress will be both age appropriate and cool. :-)

Well, I know that I will be watching E! and scanning the crowd for a man with a 14-year-old. :-)

LOL Lindsey! His name is Jeremy Scahill, in case his family and I should luck out and he gets interviewed. For those who have Netflix streaming, there's still time to watch Jeremy's documentary, "Dirty Wars."

E! channel for me as well. And then I watch the Fashion Police with Joan Rivers for her crude take on the fashions of the red carpet.

Shoot--I just found out significant snow might be in Sunday's forecast. If it turns out to be true, I won't be at my friend's house watching E!. In fact, depending on the storm I might not be watching anything. I love my TV antenna, but sometimes, depending on wind and atmospheric conditions, it's a roll of the dice.

The latest forecast is for snow and ice Sunday morning to Monday afternoon. I think as far as the Oscars go, I'm screwed. :-/

I was going to suggest a pajama party, too. At the very least, have your friend DVR the red carpet and maybe you can watch it after the fact.

E! is live-streaming the red carpet, and ABC is live-streaming the whole Oscar show, for the first time. Would your friends let you log into your computer under their email address (or set up an email address under their account for you) so you could piggyback on their subscription and watch? (If you don't consider this to be unethical. I don't, as most cable accounts, at least, allow you to set up several email addresses and all of them get access to the online content.)

Joann, he's a complete Luddite, and I'm not even 100% clear on what your suggestion involves (I've never had cable), so I think I'll jump on Georgysmom's idea and ask him to DVR the Red Carpet. He knows how to use a DVR. :-)

Now that I look at the sites, I believe that you won't even need to log in to watch, as you would with premium content. Just go to abc.com on your computer and you should be able to watch the entire Academy Awards show live. E! has a lot of stuff at eonline.com, too. You can definitely see all the clothes.

We do have cable, but I sort of want to watch on the internet just because I can.:)

Our snow forecast has gradually changed from 8-10" down to "a coating to an inch." But it turns out it doesn't matter, because I got sick. I think I caught something from my 2-year-old grandson while I was babysitting this week. As my DH used to say, no good deed shall go unpunished. LOL

Oh, Susan, I'm so sorry to hear you're sick! It's never fun being sick, but it seems especially miserable in the Winter. I hope you're feeling better soon!

The nominee's mother (one of my besties for 35 years) has been posting updates from L.A. It's so much fun reading them. She sounds like Cinderella at the ball. If she lived closer I'd be planning to dip into some the makeup she's been gifted with out there.
