Well, nuts. If I try to watch on Youtube, it asks me to pay for Acorn TV. I guess it's just not possible right now without paying. Maybe I'll wait until it's over and hope pbs or Netflix will show the season.

Season 6 is available free of charge at my library. I reserved it when it first came out on DVD and watched the whole season in one week at my leisure.

I also recommend using the library. I stopped getting Netflix DVDs because of no CC, but every one that I've borrowed from the library does. Ours has a huge selection, including many of the series.

And no, I know of no way to get CC thru the TV if it isn't on the DVD or stream. Apparently you can on a computer monitor, but I sure don't want to watch a movie that way.

Wantoretire, we watch the majority of our tv, through the computer. I'm assuming your tv is a new model, with HDMI hookups.

An inexpensive HDMI cable plugs into your computer and to the tv and you watch your program through the computer onto the tv. It's fantastic.

If I'm trying to watch a series that I don't get or I'm trying to catch up on I google "how to watch ...." (without the quotation marks) and a number of sites will come up. I did it with Doc Martin, a show I have never heard of, and even in Canada a number of sites come up for free viewing.

That's how I'm watching Major Crimes, a show that I don't get in Canada. I'm watching it on stream-tv.me.

Jasdip, that sounds interesting and something I'll have to try in the future. Right now, TV and computer are far apart in separate rooms :(

For us Canadians, I downloaded Hola, which is an ISP thing that thinks we're from the US. So we can watch Hulu, ABC, etc etc.

Have I missed something in the postings so far? I've watched the first seasons of Doc Martin through Net Flix, and have ordered the last ones now.

You all are sooooo helpful. Amazon and Netflix want to charge me extra, but I don't wanna pay. :) I did just check the city library and saw that the dvd is waiting to be shelved. I flew over there only to discover our library is closed Sun., Mon. AND Tues. Isn't that sad?? I used to be able to go to our county library as well, which has waaay more selection, but now they charge $80/year, which I won't pay. Sure do miss that library. I guess if/when I finally do get that dvd from the library, I'll watch the whole darn thing.

Sjerin, can you reserve items online at your library? We can, and that is how I always reserve my books and DVDs.

New here, although usually an interested lurker who has enjoyed comments throughout the years. I wanted to give you all a heads up on how I watch all US and UK series for free on my desktop computer. Google "watchseries", enter the show you want to watch and hit enter and follow the instructions. If your show doesn't pop up, go to the series tab on watchseries and enter the letter it starts with, then see if you find it listed. They have thousands of tv shows you can watch for free. You can then hook up to your tv via hdmi as jasdip above instructed.

Dedtired, I tried to put the dvd on hold, but our library has a new system and I could NOT figure out how to do so--I tried everything. I'll go to the library on Wed. and see if it's there. It's nice to know I can watch it online, but even nicer to see it on the larger tv.

I use Stream-tv all the time. Watched all esps of Breaking Bad, Walking Dead, Orange is the New Black. Great site to watch almost anything for free. I've been using it for 6 months with no issues regarding my computer.
